Location... Located on approximately 35 acres at the confluence of Fishing Creek, and the Susquehanna River, Indian Head Campground offers grass covered, tree shaded sites for both RV's and tents, or more open sites if you prefer no trees. Tent sites are normally situated under trees, on grass, and have a table and fire ring. Water is close by, and our most popular tenting area is across from the restroom and shower building. The small pavilion is located there for tenters to use. There are more isolated tent sites near our boat ramp, and others may be found at various places around the campground. A very nice large, somewhat isolated and spacious area for group tent camping is available upon request. Camping Sites... Our RV sites have a table and fire ring, 30 amp electric hookup, along with water. The RV unit will park on a gravel base, and is surrounded with grass and trees. We have a more open area that is popular with camping clubs. It has 30 amp electric and water, but no individual table or fire ring. A covered large pavilion is conveniently close by with a fireplace, tables, electric lights, and water for clubs to gather for meetings and meals. The River... Our concrete boat launch at the mouth of Fishing Creek, places your boat just a lures throw from the Susquehanna River, an American treasure that originates in Cooperstown, New York, and empties into the Chesapeake Bay at Havre de Grace, Maryland. An ambitious plan is underway to map the river for boat or canoe trips with access points, boat launches, camping, historic points, hazards, waypoints, and other things of interest for a boating day trip, or more ambitious trips that you may wish to plan. Maps and guides will soon be available for purchase. Also underway is a project to utilize abandoned railroad lines, along with some private property, and create bicycling and hiking paths, allowing easy access from the campground onto the path. Campground Store... We have a well stocked camp store that contains souvenirs, RV supplies, some limited food items that you may have forgotten, and some ice cream. We sell firewood for your campfires, and we have WiFi available for a charge.

    Ricketts Glen State Park Campground

Comfortable, family oriented, close proximity to lake

The campground is on a peninsula surrounded by a lake. The larger loop (non electric) sites are more spacious, level and shady. The smaller loop with RV hook ups are more barren. Sites are neat, tidy, and well stocked. Flush toilets. The showers are free but pressure was way too high and water not warm enough. Many families and young campers but CG was quiet at night. There is access to major trails including Ricketts Glen Falls. I did not have cell service with T Mobile.

    Soul Cleansing

Petticoat Junction campground is nestled in the PA Grand Canyon with Pine Creek on one side and the Rails to Trails on the other of the campground. This ideal location provides a nice tranquil environment with opportunities for active adventures. It had been several years since our last stay at PJC, but the new owners have done amazing improvements and upgrades to many areas of the campground which are greatly appreciated. Everyone we interacted with(owners/employees) were friendly and gave us the feeling that they were glad we chose to stay with them.

There are a variety of camping options from season sites, primitive sites, cabins, glamping tents, and RV hook-ups for water and electric(along the creek). We stated in one of the water/electric hook-up sites along the creek, which was wonderful. Very flat and larger than average in size, which was nice not being on top of your neighbor. Water pressure was very good and the WIFI signal was better than many campgrounds we have stayed.

The location of PJC is perfect for fishing, floating/kayaking, and biking/hiking the rails to trail. There are many nearby hikes throughout the canyon for the more adventures travelers. The office has biking/tubing/boating rentals for its campers. Additionally the firewood for sale is priced well and is very good quality, not the cheap smoky pine found in most places. If you need a break from civilization to reset and relax, I highly recommend PJC!

    Meh

This place is not really a campground, it seems to mainly be a seasonal RV resort...in any event, most of the spots were occupied by RVs with things like wooden decks, yard lights, cute little signs, etc.

The tent sites are large enough, but have zero privacy between them--see photo.

What saved this place from total mediocrity is its location right on the river...while I couldn't see the river from my campsite due to brush, it was clearly audible, which was nice.  In September the river was flowing nicely, and was mainly a bit above my ankles, although there were some pools that looked like they would go up to about mid-thigh (although I didn't go in the find out).

Firewood sold on-site, and there is a little campstore, although pickings are fairly slim.

    Ives Run

Great relaxing place with beautiful lake.

Ives Run has been a favorite site for us for the last 5 years. Lake Hammond is beautiful with great access. You can easily walk, bike, skate on miles of paved roads and you can also take the 1.5 mile roundtrip down the stone road to Pine Camp, a non-full hook up area that's on the lake edge. Plenty of wildlife to see from eagles to squirrels, chipmunks and more. This year we had a very hard time with gypsy moth caterpillars, first time we ever saw them. Camp hosts and rangers keep the campground at its best. Plenty of large full hook up sites available and AT&T and Verizon work well there. Trees are sparing enough to allow great Starlink access as well.

    Good Experience

Campground was packed 10/16-10/18, we had a 30 amp back-in full hook up site, those sites are very close to one another, well shaded.l though. A lot to do for the kids throughout the weekend, workers did a great job, very polite. We will be returning.

    Nice campground, caring hosts

We called the campground around 5:30, we were an hour away. She said no big deal just give me a call when you get here. We arrive and she takes care of us and sells us a nice bundle of firewood. The campground has excellent service, I work online so that was a relief. Full bars on at&t and Verizon. The bath house was being renovated so only the family bathroom/shower was open. You can hear traffic from I-80. Not a big deal to us. Their swimming pool is opening soon, that’s pretty cool. A lot of long term campers on site so it’s quiet as far as other campers.

    Great Four Day Camp

We spent four nights here (May 13-17, 2022). This is a nice, well run, family oriented CG (a lot of kids on the weekend) with reasonably level pull through and back-in gravel sites (quite a few long term campers).

There are many activities available: swimming pool, recreation hall, fishing pond, biking, hiking/walking, mini golf, jumping pillow, playground, basketball, shuffleboard and more.

The office store is nice (ice cream and pizza made to order!). The laundry room was clean. We did not make use of the bathrooms or showers.

Golf carts are available for rent so there was a lot of traffic(some towing portable waste tanks).

Pay attention to the Theme Weekend Events– they will be crowded and there could be an additional fee. We were charged$20 for the Care Camp Weekend.

The cable TV and WiFi were good as was cell phone reception.

    We would stay here again.

Lake glory has a beautiful campground. The sites are large, you have a middle of nowhere feel, full hook ups are a nice addition and the nice little lake is an added bonus! Camped here often as a child. Now back as an adult. Great site lakeside. Very dark at night which is great. Quiet campground. Need to do self check-in if after hours. Full hook up. Great place to sit back and relax. Not much to keep busy which is how we like it. Did take a drive to see pa Grand Canyon. Had our 2 dogs with and they loved it!

    Simple and close to Knoebels!

Very well maintained campground very close to Knoebels. This was the last weekend they were open. Kind of upset you do not get to choose your site. We would have preferred a site near the giant open field that backs up to the road, whereas people that were actually put there preferred the site we had instead. It is kind of noisy due to the traffic on the road but that would not have bothered us. Sites were pretty close to each other. You'll get to know your neighbors. Acorns fell off the trees and hit the camper all day and night. Playground is a bit too small, but the fishing pond is pretty. Most of the nicer "waterfront" sites are reserved for their seasonals. We weren't looking too much for an amenity filled campground but preferred a full hook up campground close to Knoebels. We will most likely stay here again next year. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

    Nice but expensive

When it is brutally hot, this Campground is always cool. Large shaded sites that you don’t feel like your right on top of the next camper. Well maintained facility. Nice camp store, pool and activity areas. I would highly recommend this Campground except for the price. Pricing exceeds most campgrounds in the area that of full hook ups. I assume that others think the same because they weren’t close to being full over a holiday. We would camp here more often if it was more affordable.

    Quiet riverside spot

Though mixed with camper trailers, small RVs and camper residents, it was easy to find a site where we had privacy and great river access. Facilities are “rustic” but individual shower was available. The grounds are nice too, but the riverside site locations is where you need to be.

    Best campground in Northcentral PA

Taking everything into consideration, it’s hard to find a nicer campground to stay for a night or two weeks.

    • clean, well maintained and monitored.

    • large sites on macadam pads. Large fields behind most sites for activities.

    • full hook ups available

    • numerous hiking trails, large lake for boating, fishing and swimming.

    • centrally located between Mansfield, Wellsboro and Corning

    *pet friendly. Alcohol allowed

the only draw back is that it fills up quickly and you need to reserve many months ahead of time especially for holidays. Not group camping friendly because of the reservation system. No pavilions for group activities within the Campground

Russell P Letterman Campground — Bald Eagle State Park

Great place to relax, get away and enjoy the outdoors!

We have stayed at Bald Eagle several times and have enjoyed our stay. The park has basic, water & electric as well as a few full hookup up sites. The sites are very spacious with a picnic table and fire rings and are easy to back into even with a rig as big as ours. We stayed recently and the park office was undergoing rennovations and expanding their camp store. We discovered one of the evening talks about the eagles nesting in the park and the ranger set up binoculars for us to try and see the nest. Very peaceful place to stay with lots to explore. The views are spectacular in the fall with beautiful foliage! If you are not the camping type you can stay at the Nature Inn and enjoy the beautiful lodge in an amazing location! Definitely tops on our list of state parks in Pennsylvania!

    Serenity!!!

Our first experience was spectacular- we had a site set back from the road surrounded by mountain laurel and ferns. The second site we tried was a tad too close to the road, hence the 4-stars. If you’re looking to escape the noise and crowds of state parks in PA the state forests are the way to go! Research is required: not all sites are suitable for camper trailers and each state forest in PA is different- be prepared with the appropriate questions when you call to reserve sites. All sites are “rustic”- no pit toilets or hookups. We love it!

    Little Mexico Campground

    Friendly Staff

Little Mexico is a nice campground with lots of activities in the summer, situated on Penn’s Creek about 15 minutes from Lewisburg, PA. We camped there twice this summer and had enjoyable visits. The road leading to the campground is narrow and winding, but we didn’t experience any trouble. Check in was a breeze as all the paperwork and payment were taken care of prior to arrival and all we needed to do was pick up our gate pass, map and head to the site. The employees in the front office are amazing and some of the friendliest you will meet. The other employees we interacted with during our stays were equally as friendly and helpful!

Overall the sites are good sized, level and the majority have full hook-ups. The water pressure is good, electric stable, and good cable TV connections. There is no internet at the sites and only a moderate cell phone signal. Most of the transient sites are right next to each other with little barriers between. Tubs of wood can be delivered to the site and this good quality firewood! For$10 a load, stock up because it burns well with little obnoxious smoke.

There are various activities each weekend during the summer, a huge pool, playground, mini-golf, and of course Penn’s Creek to float. The only negative would be some of the seasonal sites do not feel the quiet hour times apply to them. Overall, Little Mexico is a nice campground in a beautiful location, with great people operating it!

Hills Creek is a great park to camp! When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the sites and many sites now offer full hook up!!! We did not know this on arrival as it wasn't on the site! The site was very spacious!!! Plenty of room!!!! Bathrooms were clean!!! Plenty of shade and trees to hang your hammock for relaxing! There are some short trails through the campground! Lake available for swimming complete with snack bar, including ice cream!!! The rangers offer educational programs that are free of charge! Near by attractions: PA Grand Canyon! Beautiful!!!! Go for the day and take hike! Plan on many steps though!!! You are also close to a cute little town called Wellsboro! Go and visit for the day! Warning, there are black bears and other wild life at Hills Creek, take care to lock up your coolers!!! We heard some fighting raccoons at night! Happy Camping!

    Lake Glory Campground

    Great location near Knoebels

The highlight of this campground is it's close location to Knoebels with full hook up campsites and free shuttle to/from the park. Some sites are better than others- The first time we stayed we were near the bath houses- which actually ended up being a great location. Very large, open site and quiet! The second time, we were in a more wooded section by a little stream. I liked that it was so wooded, however, it was also significantly smaller. This last weekend we stayed near the lake, just in front of the tent sites. The site was large with a few trees and a great location at the very end of a road. However, the tent campers behind us were cutting through our campsite regularly. Not sure if this is always the case, or just the people who happened to be there this weekend. Either way, the whole point of staying there is to be in the park all day anyway. I do have to say I love the bath houses here. They are each their own individual rooms split into shower/changing room. I like the privacy and it made it much easier when my daughter was small.

    Very Nice KOA

We stayed here over a weekend and the campground was packed because there was a Penn State football game. Once the weekend was over, the park cleared out and it felt like there was more space and it was much quieter. Our site was the only one available for that weekend and it was a premium with a large paved patio with a nice outdoor patio set with table and chairs, a swing, and a sunken fire pit. We loved this deluxe site but they are a lot pricier than the standard ones.

The park is fairly small but has some really nice sites. There are 91 RV sites to choose from as well as tent sites, cabins, and “lodges.” Some are pull-thru and back-in sites ranging from full hookup deluxe, full hookup 50A, full hookup 30A, and water/30A only. The campground is built on a hill and sites are terraced. Some pull-thru sites have a very steep short hill to go up which made for some RV’s scraping bottom. The section in the front of the park is open with spotty trees; whereas, sites in the back of the park are tucked in the woods and are a lot more private. Roads in the back section are narrow and the sites are not very long and suitable for small campers. Some sites are not level at all and others are sloped such that you have to pull all the way forward into your site to get level.

Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. There are about 45 cable channels. Satellite reception at some sites would be difficult as trees would interfere. There is free Wi-Fi at each site which worked well at our site (#32). Amenities include a covered pavilion, off-leash dog park, camp store, swimming pool, playground, basketball/volleyball courts, and fishing pond. We were there during the off-season but apparently there is lots going on in the summer with hayrides, treasure hunts, Sunday morning pancakes, and a splash pad.

This KOA is close to historic sites, Amish markets, Penn State and a couple of state parks. For outdoor adventure, visit and hike Bald Eagle and Black Moshannon State Parks. Black Moshannon has great trails and a wonderful lake to kayak. The creamery on Penn States campus is delicious. Visit Mt Nittany or other wineries which have pretty good wine. Overall, it was a good place to stop and generally we liked the park. The price listed above was for a deluxe full hookup site (which included a paved patio, sunken fire pit, patio furniture, and a swing) and not a standard site.

    Beautiful River View

We stayed at a Susquehanna river view site with full hookups for 2 nights. Site was level and shaded, but very close to neighbors. Most sites were occupied by permanent or seasonal residents. Bathrooms and grounds were very clean. Rates are reasonable for what you get, and they offer discounts. We would stay here again. Update: Storms with heavy rain in the area made the river rise. Yogi At Shangri-La On the Creek

    Fun weekend

My family of 4 tent camped here for the weekend. Everyone at this campground was so friendly and nice. The staff really tried to make our stay comfortable. I noticed there was always a staff member driving around in a golf cart, checking on things. The bathrooms were very clean and maintained the whole weekend. The firewood sold at the camp store was only$5 for a large bundle and burned very well. Some campgrounds seem to sell "wet" wood that is hard to light. My only negative comment would be this is more of an RV park. If you do tent camp you should know you will be out in the open, no trees around your site and NO privacy. I will say the tent sites are huge and you can park 2 cars at each one. We made the best of it. We stayed in site 404
