Don't rent Cabin 1

Looks cute from the outside but once you get in you are immediately disappointed. The cabin had a smell, a wrinkly floor, and was very dark. There is a lack of any shelf or cabinets and only minimal hooks to put your things. Even the TV was on the dining table and you can't use the remote from the bed either. We used the table benches and top of fireplace to place our stuff. We also had no AC. The signs on the wall said make sure you turn off the AC, but no AC. Our friends stayed in cabin 6 and it was so cute, bright, and had AC. Our other friend stayed in 2 and it was much better than ours as well. 3 was better too.

In addition they would not honor a AAA discount due to already paying, what?!

Beautiful Campground and Awesome Owners

We own some property near this campground and have stayed here a few weekends as a home base while we clean up our property. The owners are just amazingly nice people, always very helpful! The campground itself is beautiful, it’s back a long lane from the main road so it is quiet and peaceful. Night time is especially beautiful, you can see tons of stars on a clear night. Everyone there, owners, employees, and campers alike are pleasant. The store is well stocked, and firewood is available 24/7. There is a small pool that we haven’t used yet, but it looks nice and well kept. The sites are a bit larger than average and are pretty level, but make sure to bring leveling blocks. The sites themselves are well kept and have a big fire pit and picnic table. I would suggest getting there while it is still light out, there is plenty of room on the roads to get your rig around the campground, but there are lots of trees and it gets a little hard sometimes to see where the road is vs a site. The store is well stocked with supplies, t shirts, and some RV necessities. Propane is also available as well. I don’t believe most sites have a sewer connection, and there is only one dump station, but the owner John was going around pumping people out Sunday morning when the line to the dump station was long. We were there in October, and the weekend they went they had a really cool walk through “haunted woods” that was a lot of fun. When we were there last weekend John was telling us about other events they are planning to do as well.

Pioneer Campground is truly a hidden gem, and I am looking forward to my next trip there!

Clean, Relaxing & Fun!

Two others and I camped here in May of 2017 and we had a wonderful time. Our tent site was secluded and quiet, but not too far off the beaten path! It was super hot so the pool was a nice cool down after a long day, and they had activities and tractor rides for the holiday weekend. We had lots of fun and great memories  - highly recommend!

Nice but expensive

When it is brutally hot, this Campground is always cool. Large shaded sites that you don’t feel like your right on top of the next camper. Well maintained facility. Nice camp store, pool and activity areas. I would highly recommend this Campground except for the price. Pricing exceeds most campgrounds in the area that of full hook ups. I assume that others think the same because they weren’t close to being full over a holiday. We would camp here more often if it was more affordable.

Friendly and fun!

Pioneer Campground in Dushore Pa is a nice, family friendly place to camp. They are located back in the woods off of route 220 just far enough away to eliminate all road noise yet close enough that making a supply run is easy. They have a pool, soccer/ baseball field and many family friendly activities. They also have a few trails for hiking. The staff is friendly and outgoing and enhance the camping experience. They also have a reasonably priced store for general purpose items and Campground apparel. They have camper sites as well as tent sites. The only downside we found is if you’re camping in the tent site and it rains heavily a good portion of these sites flood and fill with water. Be sure to place your tent accordingly. Overall we would definately camp at pioneer campground again.

Trick or Treat!

This has become a new tradition for our family and friends. We started with a trip in the summer because of their candy bar hunt and heated swimming pool. We try to get the same campsite each year because it is wooded and spacious. In talking with the extremely friendly owners we found out about their Halloween activities and have been back several times. We love decorating the sites and taking the kids trick or treating. They do a haunted woods that we felt the kids were too young for- maybe next time! They do hot chocolate and goodies in the store during the evening and there are tons of photo ops!
