It is quite a walk up the hill to the campground amenities, but worth it to feel secluded down by the creek," writes Britt B.
Hilltop panoramic views: The elevated terrain provides distant vistas not common in many Pennsylvania campgrounds. "You come up a winding road and emerge atop the mountain. It's cute. Wide open grass land with sites around the perimeter. Half a dozen of them (premium) are at the edge and have a nice view to the hills beyond," explains Jennifer H.
Nearby attractions: Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping provides proximity to regional highlights. "Good location for outdoor and city experiences, along with a relaxing getaway. Workers and permanent campers are very friendly with all the amenities necessary on site, including nice dog park," according to Jonathan A.
What you should know
Cabin reservation timing: Availability becomes limited during peak season, particularly July-August. "A camper noted that Bear Run is a great campground for families. I always camp near the horses as i like a bit more privacy," mentions a reviewer about Bear Run Campground.
Bathroom facility types: Quality and availability vary significantly between properties. "Bathhouse was clean. The central bathroom, pay shower, and laundry room had ac, a couch and were quite clean," notes John H. about Mountain Top.
Access challenges: Some properties have difficult entry roads for larger vehicles. "The hardest part is finding it. The roads get narrow so if in an RV call them for the easiest way in. If you are Overlanding like us just follow the map," advises Corey L.
Seasonal operation schedules: Operating dates vary by property, with limited winter options. "Stayed here for about a month. This place was great. You are on top of a mountain with great views. The spots are well spaced out and it is family owned," shares Corey L.
