Washington-Pittsburgh SW KOA

We've stayed here annually for 7 years. Getting into the RV sites is a steep climb, then you head down from the top of the hill to the RV sites.

The older portion has back in and pull through sites. They are medium to small in size, and due to their height and proximity to Interstates you hear trucks engine breaking. The newer section is lower (and quieter) and the sites are larger, but the gravel is not compacted so it sinks in when you drive, park or try to level your RV on it.

There were dog walking trails in the woods but they are so overgrown you need a machete to use them. The pool is nice and is clean. The camp store is not small but carries a very limited amount of supplies.

The staff are friendly. We've had RV issues and birds nesting under our slide room covers that they have helped us deal with.

Tried this KOA on the spur of the moment. We won't be back.

 It's easy on/easy off from the interstate. The hills were terrible getting there, then another hill to get to the KOA. The ANOTHER hill to get to our site. 

  Asked for a site by the bathroom. It was closer than all the other sites on the hill. Yes, all the sites are cut into the hill. There's stairs to get down to the bathroom/shower(!?!?). Some people living in a trailer by the stairs have a big dog that will lunge & bark. 

It seems like cosmetic things have been done. Planters spaced on posts leading up to the KOA main building. The bathroom had some newer looking siding & some flowers, but the floor in the women's bathroom had holes in it. It smelled funny in there too. This place needs a major remodel! 

 There were cigarette butts EVERYWHERE!

 We were thinking about using the pool, but decided against it. Sites were full sun. 

Can't believe this is a KOA...

A dozen or so of the sites are not level, not only that but they are narrow and where you sit is a slope making it very uncomfortable. This is overpriced for that simple issue, I guess ok for an overnight stay but I wouldn’t plan a long stay

Very conveniently located off the interstate. Follow the signs to the campground NOT the GPS in order to avoid some narrow and sharp turn roads. Staff were super friendly! Front desk staff were knowledgeable and and helpful. We had some issues with our power, and Larry was at our site within minutes to fix it. Big open dog park! There are only a few shaded spots. Spot width was a little narrow where we stayed (on the hill), but perfect for a quick overnight stay. Bathrooms were fairly clean, laundry was nice. The pool looked very well maintained.

Nice clean campground. We enjoyed it a lot. It can a bit noisy though as it it is right next to the highway. CSC/SA

Easy highway access great for overnight travel

Very steep narrow roads to access campground and sites..sites not level and noisy, next to highway.

Camping in a 33 ft travel trailer with slides. Verizon service is great. Wifi in extended parking doesn’t work well. The staff are helpful and polite. We are in the extended stay part of the campground which is quiet and slightly more secluded than the other spots.

Simply put, they moved us from the tent area into an RV spot because they were installing a septic tank. That's fine, but there was no advance notice and we got the last RV spot right next to the bathroom. We had people walk through our site on shortcuts to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Like most KOAs, there is little privacy to begin with as sites are right on top of each other. Since we didn't have an RVs wall or door, breakfast table meant being next to our neighbors with more people walking thru on way to shower. Again... I understand it's a KOA but this wasn't exactly proper camping.

Manager would not even listen to our request for a partial refund after we objected to being moved without notice. Compared to other KOA it was overall meh

I’ve stayed in several KOA’s, they really pack you in here and it is very tight driving. Nice people and the pool wasn’t open yet.

We stayed here one night for a stop over on our way to Niagra Falls. It was fairly easy to get in and out. We had a pull through spot. Spots were pretty close to each other. There was a playground for the kids to unwind after a long day on the road. Campground had full hook ups and was quiet at night.
