Roamer Sites - Oregon

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Roamer Sites sits at the base of Mt. Hood in Brightwood, Oregon, where a gravel road leads into a compound that doubles as a youth action sports camp. The setup is unusual: the public campground occupies a separate, secured section toward the back of the property, while guests can access shared facilities including a gym, trampoline, skate park, and mountain biking course. It is not a conventional campground experience.

RV sites have electric and water hookups, and the WiFi connection is notably fast, with one reviewer clocking 75 Mbps up and down from their tent. Heated indoor bathrooms and free hot showers are available, though their placement drew some criticism for being inconvenient. A communal fire area gives the site a social quality, with campers gathering in the evenings. The campground allows pets under a relaxed policy, and firewood and ice are available on-site.

"The internet is super fast," noted one camper who stayed in a glamping tent with a heater and lights. Cell service gets mixed mentions in reviews, so the reliable WiFi is a practical asset for remote workers or those staying longer. A hiking trail behind the campground leads into the woods past a stream, providing access to the surrounding forest without leaving the property.

Campers who want a more traditional forest setting nearby might consider Mt Hood Village Resort or the Salmon River Shelter, both within a few miles. Booking through The Dyrt may not automatically notify the campground manager, so calling ahead is worth doing before arrival.

Stay here if you like to skate or MTB!

Got rained out for a lot of my stay, but otherwise I had a great experience. Unfortunately my booking through the dyrt didn't notify the campground manager, but he set me up with a spot very quickly

PROS -great wifi connection -fun crowd to hang out with in the campsites -access to skate park and MTB course -relaxed dog policy

CONS -somewhat inconvenient bathroom placement -unclear check in through this app (call ahead of time)

Very convenient

We had a great stay here! We were in our van so had one of the RV sites with electricity, not one of the canvas tents with platforms. Really great location right at the bottom part of Mt. Hood. There was a beautiful hike right behind the campground that takes you back into the woods and past a beautiful stream.

This place is interesting because it's also a youth camp with the public campground towards the back of the space. The campground is in a separate, secure area from the youth camp but campers can use the gym and trampoline that's available for the kids staying at the youth camp. There are also bathrooms and showers that can be used. It's definitely a unique experience which made the whole thing extra fun!

At night we had a fire with some fellow campers in this centrally located fire area. It was a super fun, kind of communal experience. And although we didn't stay in one of the tents, they looked really nice and comfortable.

Fast WiFi, skate park, gym, tramps

This place is incredible. First to cover the basics.

The internet is super fast - I was getting 75mbps up/down when I was in my tent.

They have power/water hookups at each parking spot. The glamping tents have heaters, lights etc. There are heated indoor bathrooms with nice free hot water showers just a short walk away.

This place is at a year round camp/school that has multiple skate parks, trampolines, mountain biking courses, all season ski jumps etc. it’s an action sports camp.

They provide things like firewood and ice which they put in your cooler.

The people are super nice and accommodating. Ask for Jim - he handles all the camping stuff.
