Beautiful but beware the poison oak

$10/night.

We drove in and heard the sound of screaming rafters. The location is gorgeous right next to the water. There is a bit of higheay noise but it is mostly drowned out by the river.

Two pit toilets, the male toilet is missing the lid. There is garbage service.

Each of the sites had a fire ring and a picnic table.

The paths down to the water have some poison oak growing by them so be careful. We did not have cell service so download offline maps before you get here.

Very small but nicely shaded next to the river

A standard forest service campground, it is small with only 7 sites on a lollipop loop, sandwiched between the highway and the river. Because of the size and the way the road loops on itself this is NOT a campground for rigs over 22’. All of the sites are on the river side with easy water access to the N Umpqua River. Sites are large with lots of trees, but not all sites are level. My favorite sites were 2 and 6 because of the size, easy water access, and levelness. Vault toilet is about as clean as can be expected from a campground without a host. It did need to be serviced/emptied. Driving in you will see how the forest fires really destroyed the forest, but fortunately the fires did not impact this cute little campground. It looks like this could be a good stop along the river kayak trail, but I didn’t see a dedicated take out (but there are definitely some spots to put kayaks into/pull out of the river). The river definitely drowns out the road which is right above the campground.
