Well off highway...

About a mile off the highway so no noise to overtake the roar of the North Umpqua. Numerous spacious sites, many right on the river. No bugs early July.

Excellent group site with space and some privacy

It seems as though this group site used to be a small loop part of the main campground. There are about 10 individual sites here, all within the group area. Each spot has a campfire ring and picnic table. There is a larger camp table or two in middle area with a larger campfire ring (and space for everyone to sit around it). There are flush toilets in the middle, also. It's a short little trek through the main campground to get to the river, but there are some wading spots once you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Deer Flat Campground located and how do I get there?

Deer Flat Campground is located along the scenic North Umpqua River in Oregon. The campground is situated approximately one mile off the highway, which provides a peaceful setting away from traffic noise. The river's natural sounds create a serene backdrop for camping. The remote location offers tranquility while still being reasonably accessible from the main road. For specific directions, it's advisable to check with the forest service or campground management before your trip, as GPS services may not always provide accurate guidance to this location.

What amenities and facilities are available at Deer Flat Campground?

Deer Flat Campground offers basic but functional amenities. Each site is equipped with a campfire ring and picnic table for outdoor dining and relaxation. The campground is situated along the North Umpqua River, with many sites positioned right on the riverbank providing beautiful water views and access. The natural setting is relatively bug-free in early July. The campground maintains a rustic atmosphere with standard facilities typical of forest service campgrounds. Visitors should plan to bring their own water and supplies as hookups are limited.

Are there group camping options at Deer Flat Campground?

Yes, Deer Flat features dedicated group camping facilities. The group site appears to have been converted from what was once a small loop of the main campground. It contains approximately 10 individual sites within the group area, each equipped with its own campfire ring and picnic table.
