We LOVED our campsite at Bill Trout Lake. We had a lakefront spot, tons of trees around, and enough space to have privacy from other campsites. All of the campsite we’ve seen were very spacious. We had a camper van and other people had tents. The sites fit a 5-person tent plus a 2 person tent, hammocks, camping table plus camping stove. Each site has a concrete picnic table and concrete benches. All of the lakefront sites on our side had individual access to the lake. The lake is shallow and perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking. We saw one person fishing! This campsite is remote, no cell phone signal and that’s what we were looking for. We were able to disconnect, relax and reset! We had our dog with us and were able to have his lead tied to two trees to allow him to run from one side to another. Tons of chip monks (drove him nuts LOL). We saw a lot of chip monks and pretty birds. Thanks fully we did not see any bears although it is bear country! There was one bathroom by our campsite. Super clean, the campground manager came around everyday to check on the sites and she made sure only those who had a reservation were there. We had a beautiful view of the lake. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I read a book in two days! We definitely want to go back. Our campsite was number 5 and my favorite. Great shaded area. We liked the fact there was a lot of space and you are not on top of one another. We had a camper van and it got a bit chili at night but we had blankets so we were fine. There’s a small area for kids to go biking around these campsites. The closest grocery store and gas station is about 45 minutes from the campground so make sure you have everything you need, unless you plan on driving around! The roads are not paved so make sure your tires are in good conditions so you don’t get a flat. You would be on your own cuz there is no cell signal until you are back on the road (freeway/highway). Well worth the trip! We were there in the middle of the week so it wasn’t busy but it started getting crowded as we were leaving (on a Friday). We would recommend this campground! Get a lakefront spot, bring enough food, drinks, water, a paddle board or just your camping chairs, enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and mountains, disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature and have fun!

This was my favorite campground. The location was great and the amenities were superb. You can tell the developers put money into the property and thought through about the experience - whether you are just camping and having fun or whether you have to work from the road. They offered great wi-fi and office spaces to be used when needed. They have an indoor heated pool, a gym and many bathrooms throughout their property. I believe all sites are full hook up. We Stayed there for 4 weeks as we were traveling through the beautiful Oregon coast with our travel trailer and our pets. We had 3 different sites and it is because we wanted a water front spot for a few days then decided to extend our stay as we liked the campground so much and we could easily go up or down the coast as planned. All of our sites were great and the staff is so friendly and as accommodating as they can be. Their store has great items, they are well branded and they even bring you ice and fire wood if you buy is from them-you can just text them - easy user experience! All of the bathrooms and laundry rooms were well maintained and clean. We were there in July, during the pandemic and things were pretty calm and people were keeping a distance and respecting the guidelines. You don’t have a trailer? No problem, they have a few tiny houses which look amazing and they also have air streams people can rent. It can get super windy at times - there were a few nights I thought our T@b was going to fly away and we were going to look like the cow in twister LOL but thankfully it didn’t! We watched beautiful sunsets from our trailer and walked by the water in the morning and around sunset. Bay Point Landing is a great property and well located. Great drive to a few parks close by. If you are staying there for a few days, go to see the dunes and check out the beaches; it is super pretty. We also made it all the way up to Cape Kwanda, and it was one of our favorite places. The hike to the top of the dune is worth it and the view is breathtaking. If you are going with kids, be careful because there are not a lot of barriers at the top, which we thought it was a bit odd. It is an easy drive to Depoe Bay (north of Coos Bay) where you can see resident whales often. We also went al the way down to Brookings, on the border with California. Beautiful beaches along the way so don’t go in a hurry, take your time and enjoy the beautiful view. We will absolutely be back. We loved this campground!

We were lucky enough to get site number 1 which has a hot spring by it and it is river front (McKenzie River 🤩). They have rooms available, riverfront sites as well as another big area with cabins and for RVs. There is a tent area, we didn’t go there but we saw a bunch of people pulling a cart with their stuff to the tent area which is on the other side of the river. The property has the carts and you can just borrow. We did not have full hook up, only water and electric and that’s what we needed for one night. I am not sure they have full hook ups at the upper RV area. We loved staying there, you are literally in the forest, you can enjoy a nice walk around the park, they have a few trails or just sit by the river and relax. The lodge has two hits springs in the form of pools - we did not get in it because it was a bit crowded and we were there at the end of June, when Covid-19 was still around. The one by the reception and the River is bigger and the one is a bit smaller and gets crowded fast. They were requiring appointments for the second one in order to control the number of people in it and it looked like 25 was still too many people for such a small area. They are dog friendly and they offer breakage for lodge guests. We saw a food truck parked outside of the lodge but it was not open, unfortunately. It would have been cool to get food there. Bring food, water and anything else you need because there are no grocery stores around and they don’t have many options at their store at the lodge. We saw a few people fishing across de river from us! The property is very well taken care of. Beautiful flowers, plants, trees and lawn. There are a ton of hikes in the area. Proxy falls is not too far from this place and worth the trip. Great to go alone, as a couple or family.

My wife and I are working remotely and exploring the PNW, and certain amenities are important: full hook up for our trailer, pet friendly, laundry, WiFi, and good location. The Camp HAS it ALL. Located in Bend, close to a Safeway grocery store, Walgreens, Starbucks and Dutch & Bros plus a lot of other places…easy drive to the freeways so you can go explore around. We’ve met a few people that are regulars there and they love it. We loved it too and will be back when in the area. Tyler, the manager is great, cool guy, knows all the details of the trailers and he can tell you a bit about Bend and about things to do since he is local. He takes good care of the place! The Camp is a small campground and very cozy. It has vintage trailers for people to rent as well as a tiny house plus full hook up sites. They also have a common area with gas grills (2), a gas fire pit with blankets available, two tables with umbrellas and chairs, great laundry facility, awesome bathrooms (individual toilette, sink and shower, 4-5 hooks, which is great so you can hang your stuff. Pass code needed for bathrooms and laundry rooms. There is a gated pet area which is great for the dogs to be off leash for a bit (kinda of hidden by the office). They have trash and recycle, which is great. We’ve seen half and half in terms of campgrounds that recycle vs those who don’t. We wish they all had a recycle option and The Camp had glass, plastic, paper, can recycle. The sites are very close to one another and there are not mature trees but you are in the city so that’s expected. While there we went on a cool drive and stopped to see the sea of lava…we are still talking about it…those lavas have been there for over 1,500 years…it is amazing and picturesque. After stopping at the sea of lava, we went to Dee Wright Observatory, walked to the top and enjoyed the beautiful view, then continued on our scenic drive to the proxy falls. It was an easy 1.25 mile (round trip) hike. It was raining so it was a bit muddy and slippery in certain areas but super fun (we had our two dogs with us and we were fine), people were doing the hike with their kids-so good for families too. We loved it. While in Bend, we went to a park in town, which was cute and people were walking around, laying in the grass, paddle Bording, kayaking and we also saw some people getting into the river on a raft. Lots to do in Bend…scenic drives, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, river water rafting, etc. This is a super cool campground, well maintained, super clean and it even has a hair salon in an air stream! This place has personality! We loved it and will be back.

This campground is big, with a lot of trees and a good number of sites have shade for the majority of the day (at least where we were), they have full hook ups and partial, cable with a great variety of channels, their WiFi is not good, not even by the “lounge”, tiny house and cabins available for rent (pet friendly options available) which is cool, laundry facility, cafe/bakery on site, nice store with good variety of food and drink options, DVD rental. The bakery is independently owned and opens daily, they bake cinnamon roles daily and the cream cheese is home made…OMG, worth having one or two with coffee! Gas station (72) and great grocery store (thrift away) nearby )1.5 mi away). We had a great corner site and we were not surrounded by a lot of people, there was one family at the site behind us and luckily no one to our right. The fact the campground was packed for Father’s Day and lack of cleanliness at their bathrooms and laundry facility makes me wonder how serious they are taking Covid-19. We’ve been to three campgrounds so far and two of them were taking it very seriously and keeping it clean and limiting the number of people using the laundry. Some didn’t open the bathrooms and the ones who did, kept is very clean. Not so much the case here, which was disappointing as this is a “resort”. If you are looking to spend a few days exploring MT Hood area, this is a good location, not too far out from MT. Hood, fun scenic drive to up to the lodge. We saw people skiing there! If you feel like driving an hour, make your way to Hood River, which is an adorable town, with a few clothing stores, pet store, bookstore, coffee shops, brewers and an amazing river…the Columbia River Gorge. You can take windsurfing lessons (which we did and it was super fun). Hood River is the windsurfing capital of the world. You can also take kite surfing lessons or just sit and watch all of them fly around! Across the Columbia river it is the state of Washington, and you can cross the Hood River toll bridge and explore WA. Riverside is a great Restaurant located at the Best Western Hood River Inn-they have a beet salad that is to die for. Calamari app is yummy as well as the mushroom fondue burger. Next day we had the beet salad again and two pasta dishes which were amazing (chicken Alfredo and Fregula & Sausage), they have a pressed lemonade that’s sooo yummy! Hood River is worth visiting! If it is sunny, pack up some beach towels, swimming suit and head there for a day in the water.

We were a bit disappointed when we got to our site you could tell the grass hasn’t been mowed or raked in a while and it was a bit muddy because of the rain but the muddy part is not their fault. Just part of it when camping. We were going to stay 3 nights but ended up just staying two nights. There is a nice hike to a beach from the campground and it is beautiful. Cell service is not good and the. Lowest grocery store is about 20 minutes away. The bathrooms were open and clean and the staff was friendly.

We have been on the road for a few weeks and luckily, we can work remotely but we need good WiFi and they have it. You can even stream if you want to. The campground is very well maintained and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and so was the laundry facility. The laundry facility could use an update in terms of the washers and dryers and allowing people to use their cards to pay…but you can get quarters at the office/store so no big deal! There is a creek that goes by the campground and it makes it for a nice walk with dogs or without dogs :) There are a lot of trees there, which provide shade for part of the day, which is great. They are close to Chuckanut Drive, which is amazing, a must do when there, you finish the drive in Bellingham! Go for a walk at the park, which is by the water and get a burger at Zane after that…so worth it! Lots of local coffee shops around too. We also went on the cascade scenic drive - we did it in 12 hours…but people do it in a few days as they stop and stay along the way. We didn’t visit the San Juan islands this time around but make time to go to Friday Harbor and Orcas island; spend at least day in each and explore around. You can take a bus tour in Friday Harbor but we recommend renting a car for Orcas island. We will stay at this campground again when we go back to the area.

We loved this campground so much that we extended our stay and were there for 10 days. Really well maintained and just 10 minutes away from the beach in Cannon Beach, it is a lovely walk from the campground to town and to the beach. The staff is very friendly, the campground clean and sites with full hook ups. There are trees everywhere and it provides shade for portion of the day to the campsites. They have great WiFi. I needed because I am on the road, working remotely. I have a lot of teams and zoom Video calls and the connection was great! There is a great hike at Ecola park which is accessible by the road where the campground is located. The laundry is open and only one person is allowed at a time due to Covid-19 and they have to sanitize it after each person uses the facility. Really great to see them following CDC guidelines and keeping the facility sanitizes. The bathrooms, pool and spa were closed due to Covid-19 and you had to be self contained to be able to be there. We had a great time and we will stay there when we go back to Cannon Beach, which has a special place in our hearts. For those who do not know Cannon Beach, that’s where the haystack from goonies is located. The house from Goonies is in Astoria, which is about 35-40 min from Cannon Beach. Great scenic drive when you go south of cannon beach. Oswald State Park is a great hike and you can finish with a walk on the beach. Manzanita is a beach town cute town close by. Keep driving south and go get some fish and chips at Riverside Fish & Chips in Nehalem, cute little town-the food truck is behind a building, by a lake. Keep going south…and you can go crabbing. It was our first time and it was super fun. Got dogs??? Oregon is very dog friendly, which we love because we have two dogs - which we consider our kids! Lots do do in the area! Worth the stay!
