      Lebanon-Cincinnati NE KOA

      Friendly and quiet

There are a lot of people here, but even during the day we hardly hear any loud noises coming from any of the other campers. Walking the property (as much as I can with my cane) everyone is so friendly. The grounds are kept very clean. The people from the office actually do garbage pick-up anytime during office hours! Just place your trash bag/ other items to be thrown away at the front of your site and they take it away. They even have recycling, but you have to take that up yourself. They won't just tell you where it is, they will show you. I haven't been to a KOA site in 15 years and the one I went to was not a great experience, but I highly recommend staying here if you're passing through Cincinnati.

      Very Nice

This KOA has been around ever since I can remember. The grounds are kept nice. Staff was super friendly. Lebanon is a great centrally located town. Near Cincinnati, Dayton and Kings Island. It’s also very close to the scenic Little Miami River. That’s great for paddling. There are also a few canoe liveries on the river not far.

Winton Woods Campground Hamilton County Park

      Very nice campground

We enjoyed our stay at Winton Woods.  There was not much shade in the site and it was scorching hot!  The sites were roomy however.  We had no problem pulling our 34ft trailer and truck in the site.  We even had an extra car that fit in the lot with nothing hanging out.  Lots were level.  Bathhouses were clean.  We only stayed for a couple days as we were passing through but it will definitely be an option if we pass through again.

      Three Springs Campground

      Somewhat run down & unkempt

Starting with the good, it is reasonably close to the freeway yet far enough away not to be bothered by road noise. Wi fi was mostly usable. Electrical power was stable. Estimate , if the park was probably half full of campers , some long term , some transit. Was quiet. On the other hand, the place was unmowed with grass 6 to 8 inches high throughout the entire facility. A zero turn mower set unused vext to the office. Some of the water spigots were broken and hoses were strewn about so that people could get it water from different spigots to different sites. What's the worst was the bathroom in showers. A couple of people here and said they were clean , but either there definition of clean was different , or they've been a significant lack of labor to keep them up. In the men's side, there was mold all along the floors at the caulking edges. There was wadded up wet toilet paper smashed on the wall of 2 of them. The ceilings were covered in old cobwebs and fresh spider nests. The floors were quite dirty. Over half of the sites aren't level, so if you use this place bring leveling chocks/plates for your tires if not hydraulically leveled. This facility has a great deal of potential with a bit of money and some elbow grease.

    Guide to Georgetown

Stonelick State Park Campground spans 1,058 acres with a 200-acre lake situated in southwest Ohio at approximately 900 feet elevation. The park's terrain features rolling hills and deciduous forest that provides seasonal shade for campers from late spring through early fall. Summer temperatures typically range from 75-85°F with humidity levels higher than western Ohio regions, creating warmer evening camping conditions during peak season.

    What to do

Fishing at Rocky Fork Lake: Rocky Fork State Park Campground offers excellent fishing opportunities with multiple species available. "Great place to fish for bluegill and catfish. Awesome place to swim during daytime hours, just remember to use caution and don't go out of designated area," reports Lisa S.

Hiking trail exploration: Shawnee State Park Campground provides access to numerous trails with varying difficulty levels. "There are a few trails at the entrance to the campground and a canoe/kayak launch a few minutes drive from the entrance. Great little spot and can't wait to come back!" notes Jess H. when describing nearby Stonelick.

Kayaking on calm waters: Stonelick State Park Campground offers a peaceful paddling experience thanks to its no-motor policy. "Despite the rain and the wind we had a great time! Our spot was right next to a small Pollinator trail that lead to the water," writes Jess H., highlighting the easy water access.

Fall camping: Cowan Lake State Park Campground provides excellent autumn camping with seasonal color changes starting in mid-October. "Nice place, spread out, plenty of room between sites, very little shade as they have cut down a whole lot of trees," mentions Brandon P., indicating the open views for fall stargazing.

    What campers like

Private wooded sites: Shawnee State Park Campground features secluded camping spots that provide more privacy than typical state parks. "This campground has some features that are nicer than what is found in many state campgrounds. There are some secluded sites back in the woods, so you don't feel like you are camping in a parking lot in a few places," explains Megan M.

Clean facilities: Cowan Lake State Park Campground maintains well-kept bathroom facilities throughout the season. "The lot was VERY large and well maintained. The asphalt pad was decently level; a picnic table and fire ring were included. The restrooms were decent. They weren't new; however, they were very clean," reports Kim H.

Family-oriented activities: Long's Retreat Family Resort offers numerous recreational options for families seeking glamping in Georgetown, Ohio and surrounding areas. "We have been going here for the last 6 summers with a big group. Everyone always has such a great time and it is the highlight of all the kids summers. The kids can either swim up at the lake, go carts, rock wall climbing, basketball, arcade and so much more," shares Kristi J.

    What you should know

Variable site conditions: Rocky Fork State Park Campground has mixed site quality depending on location. "There are more good sites than bad. 4,5,9,10, 147-165 those were my favorites. Small town with stores and restaurants was only 8 min away," advises Jarrod M.

Cell service limitations: Connectivity varies significantly between glamping locations near Georgetown, Ohio. "There is absolutely no cell service in the Campground. The lodge at the top of the hill has a weak signal, but is better than nothing if you really need to check in with outside world," warns carrie S. about Shawnee State Park.

Site spacing considerations: Many campgrounds have sites in close proximity. "The campground was like a parking lot jammed with RVs and people. At most of the sites, you'd literally have a family up against you 20 feet to the left and a family 20 feet to the right," notes Megan M. about one location, highlighting the importance of site selection.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Long's Retreat Family Resort specializes in family entertainment with numerous options. "Plenty of things to do. The bathrooms, showers and camping sites are always well maintained and clean! It is my favorite place to camp," shares Tammy B.

Safe biking areas: Stonelick State Park Campground provides good cycling opportunities for children. "It is small enough to let my kids roam a bit on their bikes and feel comfortable not having eyes on them 24/7. Quiet and Clean," explains Jason L.

Educational opportunities: Rocky Fork State Park Campground offers naturalist programs during summer months. "Enjoyed archery and kayaking that was offered by the naturalist who was super nice and knowledgeable. Had a great time," writes Tori W., describing the educational activities available.

    Tips from RVers

Leveling considerations: A.J. Jolly Park & Campground requires careful attention to leveling. "I'm in a class a 35 foot motorhome. The sites I'm at are on a hillside so think theatrical style site. None are level looking so you will need to know what your doing to level your rig," advises Bobby C.

Full hookup availability: Winton Woods Campground offers complete services for larger rigs. "Great campground and park. Plenty to do. Hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, splash park, etc. Campground was super clean and quiet. Bathhouses were very clean. Entrance was gated. Nice campstore," reports Jeremy K.

Site selection strategy: For optimal glamping experiences near Georgetown, Ohio, choose sites carefully. "Electric site only, full service all full. A bit rough getting RV setup, but pad is fairly level, so easily setup to use slides. Site 60, 46 feet max length, ours 39. Just finished setting up," explains Johnothan R. at Cowan Lake State Park.
