"Tent/RV sites were level and had lots of Shade and trees for Hammocks. 1.7 mile paved walking trail is great for walking, running and biking. A short 18 hole Disc Golf course is close by."
"The location is located on the lake with access to put in a kayak or canoe. The bathrooms are clean, with private combined shower/dressing stalls."
$29 - $30 / night
"This is your standard Ohio State Park campground. It has the usual parking, water, restrooms, camp store, and activities.
East Fork is rather nice as it has the lake and long trails. "
"Our favorite campsite for the outskirts of Cincinnati. Lots of great spots available! You can get to the lake in about a 15 minute drive."
$43 - $73 / night
"The campground fills up fast and there were plenty of shaded electric sites close to the lake. There were also plenty of pull through sites for the big rigs."
"Playground and walk path well kept."
"Our spot was right next to a small Pollinator trail that lead to the water. My little ones had a blast riding their scooters around the round about. The restrooms are a quick walk and very clean."
"This is a great park in southern Ohio, easy to reach, 20 minutes off the interstate 275. There are a number of good sites, but some with a significant slope that leveling would be an issue."
$25 - $54 / night
"Site 22 had a beautiful view of the ohio river. The kids enjoyed seeing the barges going up and down the river. It was very quiet and peaceful. Sites were very clean."
"Not much in the surrounding area."
"This KOA sets the bar for the Ohio locations we have visited. The bathrooms are amazing and private. The tent site we had was huge and there were actually trees for our suspended tent and hammocks."
"Cute town Cons: sites are fairly close to each other."
$5 / night
"The Milford bike trail is part of a paved bike path that is 76 miles long. This campsite is tucked away as in across the street from the bike trail."
$17 - $75 / night
"There is a little store, but note that the firewood is in huge, unburnable pieces, (as most Ohio state park firewood is), so you'll need tons of kindling and several firestarters, or an ax and some way"
"We stayed in Site 12, which was huge and conveniently located close to a fairly new shower house. That facility was among the very best I've seen! Amazingly clean!"
"This camp ground is pretty standard for Ohio State Parks. It does have a cool new sleeping option. Yurts! We enjoyed our time in the yurt. "
"It is one of the better beaches for Ohio State Parks in the southern part of the state. We bought a day pass to the pool at the lodge."
$47 - $75 / night
"This campground is shady, quiet with plenty to do in the surrounding area. There is a pool, laundry room and large field with a playground and basketball court."
"There is a nice walking trail through the woods, a small pool, playground, and a pond for fishing."
What a wonderful experience, Teri and Mike have a beautiful area tucked away in Northern KY. Plenty of space between campsites! We stayed at Henry's Holler. It's a 4x4 only site. There is a steep hill that you may need 4wd to get up. That being said there are a few more spots to reserve that this is not a requirement. It is so peaceful here. You would never know you were so close to busy areas. Rabbit hash is right down the road as well as Lawerenceburg Indiana. Just a short distance is also Big Bone Lick State Park. If you just want to get away this is the spot for you. The log cabin on site is so cool. Plenty of walking can be done as you meander along some easy trails.
The "outhouse" on site is cute. It is the only bathroom on property. Well stocked and not your typical "outhouse". '. It's adorable. You will have to see it to appreciate it. This is a great alternative to camping at a campground. Note: there is no electric or water. Also pack out what you pack in. You will be greeted with a "welcome" kit that includes a citronella candle, some paper and fire starting accessories. Firewood is available for purchase by the barn. I will definitely be back! Teri communicates very well to make sure all is going well. Don't be afraid to explore this great slice of heaven.
We stopped here when passing through Ohio. Was a pleasant surprise how nice this park is!
Camp office was small but had a small selection of things for sale.
The campground is very nice, clean bathrooms, and showers.
There is a disc golf course lots of mountain bike trails and hiking trails! As well as some other great amenities.
Would recommend.
If you are retired or active duty military, you have access to recreation sites maintained adjacent to many bases. Wright-Patterson has a recreational family-friendly “Fam Camp” campground located by a small lake in the woods on the south side if the base. Families or adults can enjoy staying at the campground for a few days of camping, fishing, paddling and as a base for exploring in and around Dayton. There are many sites with hookups for RV’s, an area for RVs that dont need hookups, basic tent sites, and also a number of camper cabins by the lake. It is also a convenient stopover for folks on roadtrips and seems to be popular with retirees traveling with RV’s. We stopped for one night while on a road trip ourselves, and stayed in one of the tent sites which was very pleasant. This stay was in May, but we stayed here one time in October as well. There is a full bath house with showers snd bathrooms, a rec center with rental equipment for getting out on the lake, and a clubhouse. There is a field with bleachers for ball games, and a nice fenced in dog park.
Electric site only, full service all full. A bit rough getting RV setup, but pad is fairly level, so easily setup to use slides. Site 60, 46 feet max length, ours 39. Just finished setting up. Internet here on t-moble 5G home is 90Mbps down and 6 to 20Mbps up. Verizon on cellphone, only 10Mbs down, 1-3Mbps up. ATT cellphones are similar to Verizon. Great enough for work or play. Area is nicely arranged for most sites. Has water to fill tanks and Dumping Stations to empty as needed, so great semi-boondocking.
We stopped for one night. Beautiful grounds with ponds, pool and nice store. Friendly staff too! We made a note of this KOA to return for a longer stay.
Excellent rural setting. One of the nicer KOAs. Great staff and facilities. Mostly level sites. Grass, trees, and a pond all very well maintained.
Despite the rain and the wind we had a great time! Our spot was right next to a small Pollinator trail that lead to the water. My little ones had a blast riding their scooters around the round about. The restrooms are a quick walk and very clean. The showers and park are a small walk but also super nice. There’s a few trails at the entrance to the campground and a canoe/kayak launch a few minutes drive from the entrance. Great little spot and can’t wait to come back!
In the primitive camping the bathrooms are just outhouses, but I had so much fun here! I used to come to their beach all the time as a kid, so this trip was so nostalgic to me! It poured rain but despite that I had a great time hiking the trails and visiting the nature center!
I love the furthest back spot here, it’s so quiet and the tree canopy is my favorite (there is no electricity at this site, but I don’t usually need it anyway).
