Situated in a quiet county park setting, cabins feature basic amenities with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. The park is undergoing upgrades, including a new playground near the camping areas, a new pit toilet building, and bridge access to developing trail systems. Electricity is available at some cabin sites, with both electric and non-electric options throughout the property. According to one visitor, "This is a nice county park that is being upgraded. There is a fairly new playground near the camping areas, a new pit toilet building, and a bridge leading to where a new trail system is being created."
Rustic cabin options extend to nearby campgrounds including Winton Woods Campground, approximately 25 miles from Okeana. This Hamilton County Park facility provides cabin rentals with varying levels of amenities. Morgan's Outdoor Adventures offers waterfront cabin accommodations with views of the river. Most cabins require visitors to bring their own linens, pillows, and personal items. Cooking facilities vary by location, with some cabins offering basic kitchenettes while others provide only outdoor cooking options at fire rings. The pet policies differ across properties - Winton Woods and the KOA location are pet-friendly cabin options, while policies at Governor Bebb MetroPark may be more restrictive. we arrived during a halloween kids party. the hostess was super nice. the women’s showers and wash rooms clean. the men’s shower was sport locker style.
There are a lot of people here, but even during the day we hardly hear any loud noises coming from any of the other campers. Walking the property (as much as I can with my cane) everyone is so friendly. The grounds are kept very clean. The people from the office actually do garbage pick-up anytime during office hours! Just place your trash bag/ other items to be thrown away at the front of your site and they take it away. They even have recycling, but you have to take that up yourself. They won't just tell you where it is, they will show you. I haven't been to a KOA site in 15 years and the one I went to was not a great experience, but I highly recommend staying here if you're passing through Cincinnati.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Resort is well maintained with spacious spots. We have stayed here often and will continue to do so in the future.
We made reservations to stay here for 3 nights and missed the first night due to damaging weather nearby, (tornadoes in Cincinnati.) On day two when we arrived we found the access driveway to be deeply creviced from washout conditions. We straddled the crevices on the uphill drive but we were unable to make the 90° narrow access to the site, spinning out in the wet grass on multiple tries.
The only option for exit is to back down the driveway, which in our MB Cruiser (8,000+ lbs) was challenging.
The host is extremely communicative and a pleasure to chat with pre-arrival and completely understanding of our dilemma. We chose not to stay the remaining nights.
Had the weather been favorable, access may have been much easier and is definitely passable for car, truck or small van camping. If your turning radius is long, reserve site #1 which may have been passable for us but we did not attempt because that is not what we had reserved, but the host later offered to us. Site #1 is the lower grassy flat with much wider access.
Check with host about condition of driveway and entry before reserving.
Arrived after 7:00 p.m. to find an envelope with my campsite number of 78 and directions. The site was a tiny back in site that was so slanted downward that you had to go in head first to keep your head level with or above your feet. Of course, that puts the utilities on the wrong side of the van. There were other sites that were appropriate and were empty and after looking around I believe number 78 is the worst site in the whole facility.
Kid friendly Good camp store A lot of big sites Good shower room Easy kayak lunching area from Campground. Great trails Easy biking
Have been here twice this year. Great campground. Big camp store with restaurant. Putt putt. Most sites and great, some have slopes. Kid friendly. Good hiking trails
10 out of 10. Site spread out. Shower/bath clean. Good playground. Great camp store Great trails Kayak rentals Lake is nice Nice bike riding Fishing spots close. Beach close bye
The person that took my reservation (Carrie) was very nice. As we were a late arrival at night, we were reserved for site #122 and found someone already in our site. The office was closed and the night/emergency number had a full mailbox. A nice couple helped us figure out a new site for the night, but with two small children in tow, it made for a difficult evening. Lastely, I never received my reservation confirmation. I did however received one for Gwen who is scheduled to stay starting on 7/30/26. I do not know who she is but I hope she receives her confirmation. I personally would not return to this campground.

Road conditions: Some campgrounds have challenging access roads. At Lebanon-Cincinnati NE KOA, a camper observed, "The entry road is one lane. If you meet another vehicle someone has to back up. That's just poor design. The roads in the campground need grading. Lots of holes and ruts."
