We were there for a group meetup so the campground was very accommodating. However, it would be an entirely different experience for weekend solo camping. There are a lot of seasonal campers and then our group.
Your family will love the amenities. The sites are very close together. Whatever you do, do not come before the 2 pm check-in time because they will charge you even if you’re with a group!
This campground is perfect for tents, as they get to camp right on the water. The electric/full hook up sites are pretty close together considering it’s a state park. There are very few full hook up sites. The dump station is on an incline and the inlet pipe is a foot off the ground which makes dumping challenging.
It’s a no frills city campground with a great location!!! Bring your bikes, kayaks, wine glass, and swimsuits. You’ll have a fantastic time!
If you are near the marina gate, the buzzer every time it opens will annoy you immensely.
If you want to visit Stowe, VT, this is a great place to camp. It’s also only an hour from Burlington, so this could be a good home base for visiting there.
The campground is updated with a new laundry room and shower house. There are 2 pools (one for adults only) and a hot tub. There is mini golf, a playground, corn hole, and tube rentals for the river behind the campground.
The sites are gravel and seem pretty level.
We upgraded to the oceanfront sites and though we enjoy camping on the water, the waterfront sites are very expensive and very close together. Also, while the tide is out it’s just a gross area of mud, muck, and rocks. We couldn’t even kayak because the tide is that dramatic.
The rust level is high in this campground so I didn’t feel comfortable washing laundry. The pool is ok but no beverages of any kind are allowed.
There are a lot more permanent sites than open sites for transient guests, and sadly many were run down. No dogs allowed.
Speed limit is 5 mph, don’t even try going 7 mph even on a downhill.
Beverages will be checked at the pool, only water allowed, no soda or alcohol. Mosquitos were out of control.
Nowhere does it say but you must have $10 in cash only to get a gate key. We had to leave and find an ATM for this inconvenience even though we had a balance due. She wouldn’t put the charge on our card. So frustrating and completely unnecessary.
My only reason for giving is a 3 is good wifi, decent location to the beach, and salt water pool.
This is a city park with a beach and a campground. This is a no frills campground, though there is a playground and beach. It’s less than 2 miles from Salem and on the trolley line.
This is a cute little campground that’s easy to access. It’s 20 minutes from downtown Newport and about 45 minutes to downtown Providence.
It’s well shaded, has a nice playground, bathhouse, and a laundry room. My biggest complaint is the dryers are terrible. I had to dry my clothes 3 times ( that’s 3 hours). Nobody has time for that. Also if you’re tent camping, the bathrooms are very inconvenient.
Finally, our site was not angled and that made it tougher to get in to it.
We have mixed feelings about this campground. The reviews are mostly about the tubing/kayaking. We used our SUPs in the water and we’re fine but we didn’t go far.
Your rig will be covered in sand and it’s quite buggy. However, it has a state park feel with the trees. There are several seasonal sites but they don’t feel overwhelming.
We absolutely love this campground. You can camp on the water and watch amazing sunsets . They have a beach with a few rentals. No sewer hookups! There are some fun mountain biking and hiking trails.
The road to get here is quite small, long, and winding. Be aware if you’re in a big rig.
There’s not much to say about this campground. It was loud because of the road noise. No amenities. You’re paying for location to the stadium and to Atlanta
This campground comes with goats! Lol See our full review on YouTube. The sites are nice and level. There’s an equestrian campground. Sadly there is no pool and the only thing to do is watch the goats.
This campground is mostly seasonal campers but we didn’t feel out of place. The sites were big and paved. The pool was refreshing and the restaurant was delicious with water views.
This campground is small with tight sites (short and close together). There’s no pool but there are laundry facilities and a clean bathroom. There’s a community grill, picnic area, and chairs to enjoy the sunsets
This resort is all about the water views. However, in the summer the sea grass and jellyfish pile up to leave an awful smell.
There are no amenities here unlike Boyd’s campground which looked fun. You’re coming to El Mar for the quiet with only 11 sites. Important note: there is no turnaround in this campground!! The sites are big but if you’re the last one in, your back in to your site will be tricky.
This was an uncomfortable stay. We had an ant problem, we didn’t see any other person including anyone who worked at the park. It was not located in the best neighborhood.
This is a beautiful park but be prepared to have every inch of your camper covered in sand. They have a great camp store with kayak rentals. We could put our kayaks in from our site.
Getting to the campground was a challenge with roads that are in desperate need of repair. They are starting to work on adding gravel to the sites but have a long way to go. It’s a quiet campground but zero amenities. You have to drive to the camp office and they’re only open a few hours a day. Groceries/gas are about a 20 minute drive.
This campground is less than 2 years old. They charge a daily $4.99 resort fee and I still have no idea why. There is no pool yet, waiting on an issue with the city. When we were there the midgets were so bad our RV was covered in them at night. Check your site carefully in you pay for a water site, some have trees covering the view and a lot have a big marsh area
This is a nice campground but it is crowded! The sites have more living space than some we’ve been to but don’t come here for privacy.
