ScoutSuper cheap hidden gem for tent campers in Myrtle beach area! The pool is amazing. Campground is huge, no neighbors but still friendly faces around. Staff is very helpful and welcome. Quick 5 minute walk to the beach. They also rent golf carts for getting around town!

TravelerWe stayed 5 nights in a two room camping cabin with our two dachshunds. This campground has been around for a long time and it shows. They do an excellent job at keeping the campground neat and clean, but some of the little things are falling apart and they haven’t made any updates in a while. This koa offers a free service - a shuttle down to the beach. At the time we visited there, the city was dredging the beach and had the public access that the koa drops people off at blocked off. Instead of dropping off at the access that was open, they took you to the one that was blocked off and made you walk to the next public access which was several blocks away. We were disappointed in this since we’re older. Myrtle Beach koa has been a favorite campground of ours and we’ve stayed there many times, but each time we go, we feel like there’s no attention to detail and things are starting to get run down.

GuideThis has always been my favorite place to tent camp when I get a chance to stay here as it can get very busy in the spring and summer months. I stayed in February and there was only a few other near my site. I enjoy the convenience of the nearby grocery stores and beaches. But if you’re not back before they close the gate at 7pm you won’t be able to get back to your site until the next day. So be mindful of the time. It’s for the your and the other campers safety. But you can park at your site and walk or bike in and out on the side of the road.
TravelerWe spent 2 months at HBRV campground in spring of 2026. The staff is amazing. Our campsite was a little tight, as many of them are. But they also have some spacious, private spaces. There are only 2 washing machines for the whole campground, so laundry can get tricky on busy days. Several showers (5) including a handicapped shower. Nice clean, hot, high pressure showers. Not much climate control in the bath houses, so it can be hot or cold, depending on outside temps. Great walking trail around the park, as well as a small dog park. Grounds are well maintained & is located about 2 miles from the beach with a free shuttle back & forth. They do charge $3 per package for any deliveries. Very quiet, friendly park & we would recommend staying there.
ScoutThis place is so amazing. Everything here on site is neat clean and in good working order all the recreational facilities are fresh and new. The bathrooms are absolutely cleaned very carefully. There were many surprises here as we enjoyed all the facilities. A local food truck came by to serve hot wings one evening. There will be a pancake breakfast in the morning and that’s a nice treat on a travel day the Pickleball courts are some of the best we’ve seen as is the bocce and shuffleboard the waterfront has anything you would never need to enjoy the lake. We will most definitely come here again and again and recommend it to everyone. My five stars doesn’t come easy, but it was easy to give to this place.
