    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Most RV sites near Sterling, New York cluster along Lake Ontario shorelines or inland waterways. Brennan Beach Campground provides 1300+ sites with full hookups, open from May 1 to October 15, while Lake Bluff RV Park offers electric, water, and sewer connections with sites that accommodate larger rigs. Ontario Shores RV Park features seven pull-through full hookup sites with concrete patios for overnight stays. South Shore RV Park remains open year-round with 50-amp service and sewer hookups, though many sites require careful leveling. "We ended up with a 5-inch difference over 8 feet side to side. To find a spot I could level, I had to park center of site, leaving an 8-foot space open on the hookup side."

Advanced reservations prove essential during summer months, particularly for lakefront sites at popular destinations like Brennan Beach. Dump stations are available at most parks, though South Shore lacks this amenity. Pet policies vary—most parks welcome dogs but restrict them from beach areas. Propane fill service is generally unavailable on-site, requiring trips to nearby towns. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, seasonal flooding has affected some shoreline amenities, with one camper noting that "the lake level flooding a few years ago ruined the sandy beach" at Ontario Shores. Big rig access routes remain well-maintained throughout the region, though sites with level concrete pads are limited primarily to premium sections at larger resorts.

      Webster Park

      Close Family Camping

We go to webster park family campground several times a year for the past few years. Usually sometime in early May and in late October with an occasional day or two mid summer. It is a smaller single loop campground with sites for tents/small trailers, larger trailers, and motor homes. He difference is 30a power and no water or sewer, 50a power and water, and 50a power and water/sewer. There is a dump station. The motor home sites are all along the entrance road. The small and large trailer sites are distributed around the loop. Nice central playground and bathroom/shower house. There is hiking in the park, lots of nice woods, big field for playing games/sports. It’s close to town and home for us. We stay close to the playground these days in our pop up usually at site 5 so our 5 and 9 year old can walk or ride to campground. We like site 1 as well. We stay on the outer ring on that side of loop as it gives access to the woods and trails behind the sites. The campground is very quiet and very kid friendly to allow them to walk around and ride or scooter the loop alone.

They allow reservations online on the monroe county parks website, and are open May 1st to October 31st.

      Creek n wood

Peaceful getaway, family and pet friendly

This is a private campground located in Bloomfield, NY right on the Mud Creek. Located close to shopping, wineries, hiking, and concert events. Call for reservation, then they use text to send reservation form, confirmation form and site map. $20 gets you a bucket full of campfire wood delivered directly to your campsite! A pavilion on site offers a sink and refrigerator to use ( must label with name) , FREE games ( pool table, foosball, cards, Cornhole, etc). Don't feel like bringing/ setting up the grill? They have you covered.... Use their full size grills on site! While they have several showers to use, I only found one flush toilet for the ladies to use ( large area but no door or curtain) however, there are Port a pottys to use as well. Sites have picnic table, fire ring, Adirondack chairs, water and electric hookup, and a dump station to use on your way out. If you stay for an extended period, they offer free emptying at your site. Turtle visits are complimentary as well.

      Cherry Grove Campground

      Very nice small campground

We stayed at Cherry Grove in May ‘23 with a Fifth wheel camper. The park is very well maintained.  Sites are good sized and packed gravel.  WiFi is very good, as is cell service from Verizon and T-Mobile. It Most of the campground is seasonal, but all of the campers were friendly.

      Green Lakes State Park Campground

Good experience - lovely swimming area and lakes!

We had a great stay at this park. We enjoyed biking and exploring the lovely blue-green lakes. The swimming area was awesome. We were on the edge of a the large RV section in Pinewoods with premium sites. However, they are all in the bright sun - no shade. It was great having the camp store so close!

      Green Lakes State Park Campground

Green Lakes is a model state park

This is a great example of what a state park should be. It not only preserves a place of unique biological diversity and geologic interest, it is also well set up and well maintained to maximize low impact outdoor recreation and environmental education. A new state of the art regional environmental education center is being built now that will open in spring, as well as new handicapped access kayaking docks that complement Accessible trails and campsites throughout the park. This is a great destination for families, handicapped campers, and natural history enthusiasts. There are several campgrounds, one is large and open and meant for large RVs, others are drive-in forested tent sites or trailer sites with hookups, and several walkin sites. There is also a colony of rustic camper cabins. The campgrounds have brand new restroom facilities and playgrounds, and the main lake has a new beach house. The lake is a fascinating meromictic lake with clear calcium-rich waters that are not only pristine and beautiful to look at, but also great for swimming and snorkeling as the waters are crystal clear and very deep. There are hiking trails, paved bike trails, a nature preserve for bird watching at Round Lake, a golf course, and great kayaking or canoeing. It is also located right next door to the Erie Canal State Park for those who want to hike or bike the historic Erie Canal. Though you might expect a park like this to be in a remote location, it is actually just a short distance east of the suburbs of the Syracuse metro area, so it is an easy park to get to, plus staying there also provides easy access to stores for supplies, or access to local cultural activities or restaurants for those who want that. One of my favorite state parks in New York!

    Guide to Sterling

Several RV parks near Sterling provide full-hookup access to Lake Ontario and surrounding waterways. Brennan Beach Campground accommodates large motorhomes with big-rig friendly sites and offers electric, water, and sewer connections during their May to October season. Lake Bluff RV Park features 50-amp electric service across its spacious wooded sites, while Ontario Shores RV Park provides concrete pads with full hookups for overnight travelers. South Shore RV Park offers year-round access with water and sewer hookups on level sites. "Our site was 5 inches off over 8 feet side to side, leaving me to park center of site with hookups far to one side," noted one Lake Bluff visitor.

Advance reservations are essential during summer months when lakefront RV sites fill quickly. Most parks in the region maintain clean dump stations and offer trash service, though amenities vary significantly between properties. The proximity to Lake Ontario creates occasional water advisories that affect campground utilities. Pull-through sites are limited at smaller parks like Port Bay Camping and RV Park, which offers just 40 sites with water and electric hookups. Many RV parks permit pets but enforce leash rules in common areas. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, seasonal campers occupy many premium sites, particularly those with lake views, so transient RV travelers should book well ahead for weekend stays.
