This is CAMPING, completely “Off-grid” located in the woodland but close to the main house. It is cooled by the breezes and/or a small fan when needed on hot nights.
The living area is on the outdoor deck. A long bench in the “living room” and a great table for dining. The bedroom is a 10x10 space that is fully enclosed with windows that open on 3 sides for fresh air. The outhouse (a modern one - hole). and shower are “out back)
There is a smoking area in the field next to the fire pit. It is the ONLY place smoking is allowed.
There are over 20 acres of woodland in a DEC crop tree management program, the property connects to the Erie Canal hiking/biking trail that runs between Buffalo and Albany or in a more local sense, between Palmyra and Newark, NY

Nice, but my phone did not work here
DYLAN & TIFFANY ARE AWESOME! THEY ARE HELPFUL CARING AND SO NICE!!! WE STAYED MONTHLY AND GO TO FLORIDA FOR THE WINTER AND ARE COMING BACK NEXT YEAR!
This camp is well spaced out even though it’s busy. It’s quiet and has a playground and good fire pits. Laundry and bathrooms. My only complain is we couldn’t shower. They didn’t have shower heads. The water just shot out like a water hose and was cold. The views was amazing especially sunset and the rocks along the water are magical. Places to fish too! And 15 minutes from Niagara Falls!
Nice trails and lots to do. Verizon coverage at our campsite was mostly non-existent. Showers were spacious but floors were always wet from floors not being sloped properly. Yea, we're shower snobs. :). Beautiful waterfalls and gorge!
Amazing views and spacious layout. Bathhouse are far and few between and nothing special. The views are what really make it worthwhile.
I was very impressed with this camp and will be returning again! Down to earth owners who run a great ship!
Lots of activities available for both kids and adults. Cozy sites. Clean bathrooms near the campground store.
Cozy campground. Clean single person bathrooms. Golf cart, paddle board and kayak rentals available. Campground is on a very steep hill so it is difficult to walk around.
08 2024 We had our first experience here July of this year. We loved it so much, we came back in August. We had several sites, couldn't get one for the entire time each time, and we loved them all. Sites are fairly open and you see all your neighbors, but they are roomy, you certainly aren't on top of one another. Sites are sunny, works well for solar, some are partial shade. The bathrooms and showers were always clean. The camp store is cute and has essentials. The staff are pleasant, as are the campers. There is a shuttle to Niagara Falls, during the summer, it is free, and drops you at several locations. There is even a pool drop off that is free for campers, very nice for the kids. There are playgrounds and the kids seem to have fun. Quiet time is that, quiet. Some sites overlook the lake, but I'm sure those are gone early in the year. I recommend this place for all people, young, old, tents, rigs.
07 and 08 2024. We stayed in loop A, the showers and bathrooms are newer in this area and no matter what time of day or night I went, they were clean. Sites have a good amount of trees and shade, if you need solar, look on Google maps first before picking site. The parkway to Hamlin may have some shorter underpasses for tall rigs, so pay attention or check ahead if you have a large rig. The beach is great, and there are several playgrounds for kids. Never saw the dump stations busy, but then again we didn't go right at check out time either. Kids will be kids and laugh and play during the day, even though we're retired, we enjoy the sound of happy children. Come quiet time, it was just that, quiet. Odds are you will need to level your rig, dirt, stone etc., but that's to be expected, we are camping after all. All the staff that we came in contact with were pleasant and helpful. We live relatively near Hamlin and plan on going there several times a year. Perfect get away.
Sites are were nice and big but not private at all. I was in site 300, it was like a large lawn with a tree, which was great for shade. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Not a lot of privacy. Really nice bathrooms nice showers. Amazing being so close to Lake Ontario.
Check-in was quick and easy. Our site was spacious, clean, and pretty darn level. Bathrooms were dated, but pretty clean for the amount of traffic. Water was hot and had great pressure. We were there for @KingdomBound2024. The campground was 6 minutes from Darien lake Amusement Park. We will definitely be back next year.
If you have any concerns about their park or services they will immediately avoid you like the black plague!!! It's almost like they have things to hide, or don't want to justly return not even $1 that they are not entitled to. Running away from customers says a lot about their lack of professionalism, level of maturity, lack of integrity after they get paid, and the possible false statements they are making in their advertisements. To make a long story short, I did not receive all the services that they were supposed to deliver after paying them. The petting zoo is also questionable and one that should be looked at by PETA. Never going here again.

We had a great time here we stayed for a whole week to get the extra savings and we loved every day of it. There was something new every day. The waterfalls were amazing. The rec center had tons of activities and sports for the kids to do. They had a really cool playground, which was like a rope course.
Thanks a lot for the helpful information you bring. Hope you will always give everyone as many great posts as possible in the future.
Describing this as a family campground is an exaggeration. The majority of structures in this area are semi-permanent, consisting of campers with non-mobile buildings attached. These constructions are in a state of severe degradation. Several of the residential areas require cleaning.
This campground is clearly well-maintained. Everything was tidy and clean, from our campsite, laundry room, showers, bathroom, camp store, and walking paths. My only complaint is that all campsites do NOT have a view of Lake Ontario. However, it’s just a short walk to a nice grassy area to overlook it. There were several more tent sites available, but this is definitely a campground that caters to seasonal campers/RVs. Only 25 min. outside of Niagara Falls so we were able to get there early. Also, the owner was very responsive.
The Niagara Woodland Campground presents itself as a family-friendly destination, but falls short in delivering a welcoming environment for families. During my visit, I noticed a predominance of semi-permanent structures, many of which were retro bowl attached to campers in a state of extreme disrepair. This detracted from the campground's appeal, as it gave off an unkempt and neglected atmosphere rather than a pristine outdoor retreat.
Loved this post! It's very informative and well-written. Thanks. Solar
