Best RV Parks & Resorts near Holley, NY

Several RV resorts are located near Holley, New York, providing seasonal accommodations from May through October. Red Rock Ponds RV Resort offers drive-in access with full hookups including 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Hickory Ridge Golf & RV Resort features big-rig friendly sites with similar amenities and operates from May 1st through October 31st. Southwoods RV Resort in nearby Byron provides back-in and pull-through sites on gravel pads with full hookups, two swimming pools, and a camp store. Sites at these parks typically include a picnic table and fire pit, though spacing can be tight during peak season. "Sites are pretty close and feel a little cramped when the park is full. There is a train track near the park which occasionally is quite noisy," noted one Southwoods visitor.

Seasonal operation is standard for RV parks in this region, with most closing by late October. Most facilities near Holley accommodate pets but require leashes and proper waste disposal. Dump stations are available at all major RV resorts, though Johnson RV Sites, a small temporary facility with only two sites, lacks this amenity. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area, particularly at the larger established resorts. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekend stays during summer months or special events. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, parks in this area primarily cater to seasonal campers rather than short-term visitors, with one reviewer noting that Red Rock Ponds "appears more for permanent campers" but still offers "adequate sites" for travelers.

    Canandaigua-Rochester KOA

    Camping near Canandaigua, New York

Campers exploring the Canandaigua area discover a delightful mix of lakeside retreats, wooded state parks, and family-friendly RV resorts. Just minutes from downtown, Canandaigua City Park Campground offers easy access to local shops and the lakefront beach, making it a convenient base for those who want town amenities within walking distance. A short drive farther out leads to Keuka Lake State Park Campground and the privately owned Canandaigua-Rochester KOA, both of which feature spacious sites, clean facilities, and excellent opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and fishing on the Finger Lakes. For those seeking a quieter experience, numerous backcountry and dispersed sites are tucked into the surrounding National Forest, where campers can truly unplug—though it’s essential to bring all necessary supplies and practice Leave No Trace principles. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill and the Stay Bristol Woodlands campground blend rustic charm with modern comforts: well-maintained restrooms, picnic shelters, and on-site hiking trails that wind through hardwood forests and offer scenic overlooks, especially stunning during fall foliage season. Travel logistics are a breeze when visitors prearrange an airport shuttle from Rochester or Syracuse airports, ensuring a smooth transition from plane to campsite. And for adventurers mapping out multiple stops across the Finger Lakes or beyond, reliable multi-city transfers provide comfortable, door-to-door rides—no rental car necessary. With its blend of waterfront sites, wooded hideaways, and nearby attractions—wineries, waterfalls, and historic villages—the Canandaigua region truly has something for every type of camper. Whether pitching a tent under the stars or rolling in with an RV, visitors will find endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    Webster Park

    Close Family Camping

We go to webster park family campground several times a year for the past few years. Usually sometime in early May and in late October with an occasional day or two mid summer. It is a smaller single loop campground with sites for tents/small trailers, larger trailers, and motor homes. He difference is 30a power and no water or sewer, 50a power and water, and 50a power and water/sewer. There is a dump station. The motor home sites are all along the entrance road. The small and large trailer sites are distributed around the loop. Nice central playground and bathroom/shower house. There is hiking in the park, lots of nice woods, big field for playing games/sports. It’s close to town and home for us. We stay close to the playground these days in our pop up usually at site 5 so our 5 and 9 year old can walk or ride to campground. We like site 1 as well. We stay on the outer ring on that side of loop as it gives access to the woods and trails behind the sites. The campground is very quiet and very kid friendly to allow them to walk around and ride or scooter the loop alone.

They allow reservations online on the monroe county parks website, and are open May 1st to October 31st.

Guide to Holley

Camping options near Holley, New York primarily operate during the warmer months, typically May through October due to the region's cold winters. The area sits at approximately 513 feet elevation in western New York's Orleans County, about 25 miles west of Rochester. Most campgrounds in this region are situated within rural settings surrounded by farmland and agricultural areas, with occasional railway lines nearby that campers should be aware of.

What to do

Visit nearby attractions: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground combines camping with theme park access about 30 miles from Holley. "This is a large campground. Walking distance to the theme park. Campground fees include admission to the theme park," notes Mary H., making it economical for families planning multiple park visits.

Enjoy water activities: Many RV parks near Holley feature ponds or pools for recreation. At Southwoods RV Resort, campers appreciate "2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball," according to Hope C., providing multiple activity options without leaving the campground.

Golfing opportunities: Several RV parks in the Holley area integrate golf facilities. Hickory Ridge Golf & RV Resort combines camping with golf course access, though Mariah G. cautions it "feels more of a 'locals only' kind of feel as it is a country club and golf resort primarily," suggesting weekend visitors may want different options.

What campers like

Family-friendly environment: Many visitors appreciate the community atmosphere at seasonal campgrounds. At Lei-ti Recreation Resort, Kristine B. found "a family run campground and they treat everyone like family there. Everyone is extremely friendly and considerate of each other," highlighting the welcoming atmosphere.

Activities for children: Organized events keep younger campers engaged. Rich L. from Southwoods RV Resort commented, "We stayed in August and we really enjoyed the setup and location of all the amenities this campground has," reflecting the appeal for family summer getaways.

Clean facilities: Campground maintenance receives frequent positive mentions. At Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort, Amy T. noted, "It is new and growing. The pool is nice and staff friendly. Clean bathrooms with activity and entertainment on site and nearby," emphasizing comfort factors important to many campers.

What you should know

Seasonal population: Most RV parks near Holley cater primarily to seasonal campers rather than weekend visitors. At Red Rock Ponds RV Resort, dan observed the campground "appears more for permanent campers" but still offers "adequate sites," setting expectations for transient campers.

Site spacing concerns: During peak periods, some campgrounds become crowded. At Skyline RV Resort, Paul G. found it "a little tight if you like to spread out," suggesting visitors prioritize space should book early or consider off-peak timing.

Noise factors: Train tracks near several RV parks create occasional disturbances. At Six Flags Darien Lake Campground, Donna M. noted, "There was a train track close to camping," while others mention concerts and park activities creating a lively rather than quiet atmosphere.

Uneven terrain: Some campgrounds feature challenging topography for large RVs. At Twilight on the Erie, Donna C. experienced that "Almost all of the sites are not even close to level. Not a big issue with a fifth wheel but a real hassle with a motorcoach."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Southwoods RV Resort receives praise for child-friendly amenities. Kerry W. reported, "Quiet, Clean, Nice Gardens and Huge Field For Kids," providing space for children to play safely.

Budget considerations: Several RV parks offer bundled amenities to maximize value. Six Flags Darien Lake provides park admission with camping fees, making it "very convenient and affordable" according to Mary H., especially for families planning multiple days at the park.

Safety measures: Look for campgrounds with enforced speed limits and protected play areas. Rachel T. appreciated that at Twilight on the Erie, "The speed limit is 5 MPH and they mean it.... Kids on bikes and having a good time in the enormous play area and the pool far enough from the campsites but close to the store."

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: When booking at RV parks Holley, New York and vicinity, request specific sites based on your needs. Nancy W. from Southwoods advised choosing carefully: "The campground is quite large and has separate sections for seasonal and transient campers and has a variety of different campsites from back-ins to pull-thrus, 50 to 30-amps."

Leveling preparation: Pack additional leveling blocks for certain campgrounds. Donna C. changed sites three times at Twilight on the Erie and "finally resigned ourselves to not being leveled," suggesting RVers bring extra equipment for uneven terrain.

On-site assistance: Some campgrounds offer mechanical help for RV issues. At Six Flags Darien Lake Campground, lionel O. reported, "We needed help with our water heater in our own RV and the camp team sent over a mechanic to sort it out within minutes. Free of charge."
