Gorgeous, has everything you need and more!

This campground is beautiful. We are absolutely thrilled with the stunning lake and surrounding nature. We have everything we could need at our site, with water and electric hook ups (no sewer) and the bathrooms are excellent and include showers.

The outer loops provide like views. ATT & Verizon service work really well—and site provides 10 minutes of WiFi for free with the option to buy more WiFi. We have not tested this.

Sites are spaced out and it is relatively quiet, sparse, and again—stunning!

State park in NE New Mexico

Basic state park with water and electricity at many campsites.  Quite a few local campers at the park.  Ute Lake is a reservoir.  There was not a campground host yet and the bathrooms were pretty messy.  Beautiful sunsets!

Peaceful & windy

I stopped in about 830pm on my way to Arizona. Only person camping in the entire place. Super quiet. Only downside is the pit toilet was the only thing open. The actual bathrooms are closed for tbe winter. :(

Good…not great

Nice campground. If you fish there lots of lake to fish in. The restrooms could be cleaner, but if been in much worse. Bird watching is fantastic!

Nice view, inconsistent amps

Ute Lake campground had nice large pull through sites, a shaded picnic area, and nice views of the lake. The playground was very nice and shaded. We were disappointed that the electrical hookups did not provide consistent output. We were unable to run our AC while the refrigerator was on, and the other camper we spoke to had the same issues. They do have showers but the flow is a hard diffuse spray that goes more out of the shower than in. You had to press a button and hold it down to have any water output, which made showering myself and my kids very challenging.

Nice quiet, open park and campgrounds near the lake

There are several separate CGs at Ute Lake. We stayed in Logan CG site 23, which was nearly perfectly level, for 5 days. There is no dump station at the Logan CG, the only dump station is near the main office, several miles back down the road. The restrooms were closed while we were here- not sure if that is seasonal or due to COVID. I did have to pick up 7 or 8 large, albeit old, piles of dog feces and a broken beer bottle right in the site and around the picnic table. I shouldn’t have to do that, but some people are just inconsiderate and nasty. The CG has is a trailhead for the 2.4 mile park nature walk. It’s a nice trail, with several lake viewing areas along it. Our dog didn’t encounter too many sand burrs on the trail, but be advised, the evil little things are everywhere else and imbed themselves in everything. The CG has fee for service WiFi, which is fairly pricey(e.g. 3-day unlimited, one device for$20, 5 GB and 3 devices for$30, etc.). They also offer 30 minutes per day for free, but I couldn’t get but a few KB/s on it. I didn’t buy the service, so I’m not sure how fast the paid service is. AT&T coverage was really good, with 4 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to 27 MB/s. Since there are few trees, satellite coverage is not an issue, so we didn’t try to get any OTA channels. There is a small grocery in Logan, but their selection is limited.

Blue skies and wild turkeys

If not for lack of facilities this would have been a nice camp spot. I would not make reservations and pay with reserveamerica because the camp ground will not be able to refund your money if you want to leave. Be very aware that there ARE NO FACILITIES open at this time. Call camp ground for further information. Pit toilets are very clean but no hand sanitizer. Please folks don’t smoke while you sit. That smoke can be severely deter mental to others

Beautiful View

As we drove around the first more populated side of the lake the tent sites were not what we were looking for, good sites close to the water but the view was blocked by the trees. As we looked around we noticed there was South side so we decided to check it out. Wow!! The tent campsites were more secluded and the view of lake was gorgeous. They have electric hook ups, developed w/o electric. There are several little loops to check out with a vault bathroom close by.

Great Desert Camping, nice lake

This is a great place to hang out on the weekend in Eastern New Mexico. The water is great and it's pretty clean lake. When the wind kicks up it can get pretty rough but overall nice. The grounds are well taken care of as well. I would recommend staying on the South side of the lake if you like it quiet, you can also find more "trees". Try to keep your elevation low because the wind always blows in New Mexico.
