Easy drive in Camp ground

Paved roads leading to campground and extra long hard beaten gravel trails to campsites made this campground easy to pull our 30ft airstream into even after dark. Called ahead as we were arriving late and they said to just take any unreserved spot and pay at paystation or in morning. We parked in the yucca loop, spots 9-15 have 50 and water plus long 50' driveway. All spots in this loop have picnic tables, some have tree line. Area is pretty flat, decent lake, very quiet. Only a few other campers here (April). Vault bathrooms just opened for the season, byo toilet paper. Dump station near visitors center. Nice place to stay for a night between Amarillo & Santa Fe, not much of a detour.

Beautiful lake oasis...not so family friendly on our stay

A beautiful lake oasis! The sunset was just what we needed after a long day of travel. The tent sites are pretty rustic- one pit toilet for the whole loop. We loved the lake but unfortunately the camp was pretty rowdy, a set of headlights shone into our tent until 1 am. We had small kids with us who couldn't sleep...unsure if that is how it is or just a but if bad luck. It was the weekend.

I like it

They have bathrooms and shower. They are pet friendly and have hike trails.

The only thing I would like to see added is a handwash station in the bathroom.

Nice place super noisy

Little confusing to find location, but finally got to our spot and got settled. Many little boys showing off their loud trucks. Too bad!

Nice lake and nice facilities but super noisy. Electric and water at our site in Zia loop. Good price. Dump station available. Good cell service for both Verizon and AT&T. Okay for a quick stop on our way back East. Easy in and out. Probably won't come back. Too many weekend warriors for my taste.
