Situated at the end of a long road into Carson National Forest, Los Pinos is a small, drive-in campground along the Rio de los Pinos in northern New Mexico, open June through October. The site count is limited, four to five improved spots, and most sit directly on or beside the river. UTV traffic on the access road can bring dust during busy periods. Vault toilets, picnic tables, and trash service are on-site, and pets are welcome. The spaces are compact, so large rigs will have difficulty maneuvering. Because campsites near Carson National Forest are spread across a wide area, arriving here to find it full leaves few nearby fallbacks. This campground works best for tent campers or those with smaller rigs who want direct river access.
