Two loops of sites sit roughly 15 miles north of Pecos on NM 63, with the outer loop sites running smaller and more wooded, better suited to tents, while the inner loop has longer pull-ins that accommodate large trailers and horse corrals. Jacks Creek Horse Camp is managed by the US Forest Service within camping spots around Santa Fe National Forest, with potable water sourced from a well two miles down the mountain, vault toilets, and trash service on site. Creek access and several trailheads are a short walk downhill. Arrive midweek to avoid crowding; weekend nights can get noisy as latecomers set up after dark.
