The main trail is part of a longer route connecting these two destinations, making it perfect for both day hikes and multi-day backpacking trips. The area features Windsor Creek with fishing opportunities, though be aware that in July (monsoon season), the creek can be quite active and the trailhead area may have significant fly activity. The trails offer beautiful mountain scenery and wilderness experiences throughout the Pecos region.

Winsor Ridge Trailhead offers basic facilities typical of a wilderness trailhead camping area. The site features access to Windsor Creek, which provides water for filtering (treatment required). There are no developed amenities such as electrical hookups, showers, or flush toilets. The area is primarily designed as a jumping-off point for wilderness adventures rather than a full-service campground.
