Beautiful drive through the Pecos to get to this site. Trail runs from the Pecos, over the mountain and into Santa Fe. We went to the campgrounds in July at the beginning of monsoon season. Lots of flies at the trail head and a very busy creek for fishing.

Where is Windsor Creek Campground located and how do I get there?

Winsor Ridge Trailhead is located in the Pecos Wilderness area of New Mexico. To get there, you'll take a scenic drive through the Pecos region. The trailhead is situated between Pecos and Santa Fe, serving as a connecting point between these two areas. The access road is generally accessible by passenger vehicles, though conditions may vary seasonally. It's advisable to check current road conditions before heading out, especially during monsoon season when weather can impact accessibility.

What hiking trails are accessible from Windsor Creek Campground?

Winsor Ridge Trailhead serves as the gateway to an extensive trail system that runs from the Pecos area, over the mountain, and into Santa Fe. The main trail is part of a longer route connecting these two destinations, making it perfect for both day hikes and multi-day backpacking trips. The area features Windsor Creek with fishing opportunities, though be aware that in July (monsoon season), the creek can be quite active and the trailhead area may have significant fly activity. The trails offer beautiful mountain scenery and wilderness experiences throughout the Pecos region.
