Reservations are available at Goat Hill Campground, a small Forest Service site in Carson National Forest between Questa and Red River, open May through October. Sites sit directly alongside the road, and reviewers consistently note road noise as a drawback. The campground does have vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, a communal bear bin, and a rushing river nearby. RVs up to 32 feet can access the site. AT&T users have reported two bars of cell service. Steep mountains rise on one side. Grocery stores and hot food are a short drive away in either direction, making this a workable overnight stop when nearby campgrounds are full.
