Sun Outdoors Cape May

Very large campground. Is not as nice as some of the other places I’ve been but it is ok. Pool water was cloudy so kids didn’t want to swim in it. The people that worked there seemed nice.

I will preface this review by saying that I did not stay at the campground, I merely took a tour.

My family is always interested in trying new campgrounds.  We usually stay down the road but wanted to check out this campground while we were in the area.  The staff was very friendly and welcoming.  The grounds were well kept.  The pool area looked nice and there were plenty of bathhouses and laundry (both are lacking where we usually stay).  

Our RV is on the larger side so we don't feel like this campground would necessarily be a good choice for us since the sites seem a little smaller and the roads are a little tighter.  If you are a master maneuver-er then this wouldn't be a concern for you but as we've only had a handful of trips with this bigger RV we're still shy about tighter spots.

I stayed here when it was called Holly Shores. We had a "safari " tent, which was immaculate. It even had a separate bathroom with indoor plumbing. Campground is not far from a convenience store if needed. We met some seasonal people there as well. Fire rings were at each campground & everyone was friendly. I appreciated how clean the space was & it's close proximity to activities in Cape May.

I stayed here last year. no info in bath housed, we showed in our camper. cable TV and wifi work ok. close to beaches. sunset and beaches on either side if ferry terminal jetti are free and no cost to park. they are on the bay so small waves. there's a lake and pool at the campground. staff and fellow campers are friendly. the entrance is unlit at night and sign us hidden by their shrubs if coming from the south. that's my only complaint

Took a weekday trip super early this year. It’s cold but we are having a blast. We love the stand boxes for your tent. Only one other tent camper here.

We stayed in site 148(old#SO4).. Site was ample sized as most sites were. The front of the park is close to the pool and store- if pool noise is a concern you should stay further back. A mix of seasonal,"cabins" and overnight camping. Park was very clean. Seasonal sites were very well maintained.   Reasonably easy access to Cape May attractions. Plenty of space for 33 ft motorhome and toad.   If you like craft beer there is a brewery about 2 miles away towards Cape May

The park is a little tight. If we had a neighbor across the street, there would have been no way we would have gotten into the spot. There were so many tired and old skirted-in trailers there as well.

On the plus side, the pool and playground were excellent. Our daughter had an excellent time.

The bathhouses weren't so clean, even though they were closed most afternoons for cleaning, and they had the gall to charge a quarter to shower in their not-so-fresh showers.

The staff was friendly, and did what they could to fix the things that went wrong. They were the highlight of our stay, and the staff is the only reason we'd be back.

Awesome experience all around. Campground is secure at all times, tent spots were slightly smaller than what we expected but did the job nicely. All staff were helpful and even let us check in early. Very clean and tidy bathrooms. Beautiful campground, definitely going again!

Love the place, but their wi-fi is awful.

Sun outdoors was very quiet. Many full timers.

Was a nice campground was close to home. Have nothing bad to say. Heated pools were a nice bonus as well camp sights are tight.

Went for a a scout event May 2019 and was enjoyable. Lots to do. Caught a lot of fish. Tent camping.

Site 41. Nice shaded, level site with stone. Small grassy area between sites. Clean and close together, but not too close. They have activities and golf cart rentals, neither of which we took advantage of. Seems like a lot of seasonal trailers but everything is kept nice and relatively new. Check in was easy and office staff was friendly. We would return.

I liked this place. Despite the shutdowns with Corona, they made every attempt to hold activites every day. You had to sign up for pool slots, but there was plenty of openings. Pool was lovely and well maintained. There is an 11 mile rail trail across the street as well. The negative would be the number of long term sites, but the campground was overall clean and the staff were all very nice.

Stayed in a drive through, patio site with full hook-ups. It was situated on a corner spot. A lot of RV, golf cart, bike, and people traffic due to the location. With all that said, the other campers were pretty respectful.

The sites were clean. Plenty of dumpsters for trash. Can’t comment on the bathrooms and bathhouses as they were closed due to covid-19. Much of the other amenities were all pretty much closed too.

The beaches are about a 10min drive, but the town is very bike friendly. A lot to explore in Cape May, and this is a great spot.

& it was a great time! Need to go back now that I’m older...

We had a pop-up so I can’t speak to tent camping at this one!

Like most KOAs with standard activities, family friendly environment.

I really could not figure any negatives to put for the review. The camping resort was clean and flawless. We stayed for the Halloween Weekend and loved it so much we are going part-time seasonal there next year. This is a place where kids can be kids!

We've stayed here 2 years in a row. We returned due to all the activities the campground offers for the kids. A nice lake with a giant inflatable slide, floating trampoline, kayak and paddle board rentals. A decent pool that tends to get a bit crowded, but does the trick. We had a blast with a golf cart rental. The campground is rather large, so it felt like a necessity to have a secondary way of getting around easily as a family. Plus it made checking out the entire campground manageable. Bathhouses were clean and well maintained. The campground is a short 5 minute drive from Cape May. Which is also a big reason we've returned. Sunset Beach, The Open Air Mall, and the charm of victorian Cape May are all great reasons to visit.

Campground has decent space at the campsites but you’ll be looking at your neighbors. Nice pool and some of the best looking seasonal Ive seen decked out with tiki bars, etc. Close to the boardwalk and beach.

We were very pleased with the size of our site.  The campground was quiet and the bathhouses were clean.  We happened to be there when it was 100 degrees so we definitely noticed that the bathhouses weren't air conditioned.  We were really happy we didn't have to shower in them since they were so hot.  The pool was warm but it could have been cleaner.  The lake was so warm that it made us wonder what kind of bacteria was growing in it.  Overall we were pleased with our stay and would return again.

Very nice place...bathrooms and pool are all very clean. Some sites are a little small but everyone is so nice you don’t mind. Bring my grandchildren a lot and they love it. And don’t forget our four legged family members. This campground is also very pet friendly ❤️. We come back as often as possible.

The site was nite. We have a concrete pad with a picnic table on it. Gravel and level were we parked the camper. But the seasonal site people were very rude. They would have the music up loud were we could not talk civilly. One man left for over an hour and left his music on. The w/o is we bought was green and of course it smoked when we got it to burn. I will not be going back there again.
