This sandy, open area sits directly off the highway without clear signage marking the turn-in. The site lacks restrooms, trash facilities, and water, with cell service ranging from fair to poor according to campers.
Highway traffic and OHV activity create consistent noise levels throughout the area. Large RVs can navigate the sandy terrain, and campfires are permitted. For those wanting developed facilities, Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area provides restrooms and more structured camping southeast of here.
