Rock crawlers and OHV enthusiasts have reason to scope out Balancing Rock Camp, a dispersed BLM site in the desert terrain outside Laughlin. The road in is the defining factor here. At least one driver in a Ford Explorer was stopped about a mile from the entrance, unable to continue without a 4x4 vehicle. High-clearance four-wheel drive is not optional. The site falls under the Bureau of Land Management's Needles Field Office jurisdiction, and nearby Quail Spring OHV BLM offers a comparable alternative for those already equipped for off-road travel. Come prepared with water and supplies, as no amenities are documented at this dispersed location.
