Humboldt National Forest Angel Creek Campground

We stayed here for a night on a road trip east. The campground was nearby the highway yet tucked into the foothills so felt nice and secluded. Bathrooms were clean, campsites well maintained, and the aspen groves were beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty wildflowers, $17 per night, the site said it was all first come first served but some people there said they had reserved in advance. There were still sites available until about 7pm on a Friday night. Pretty close together, not much privacy.

Nice quiet place to stop. Our family loved being able to walk around and see the cows! The camp hosts are very kind and the bathrooms are very clean. The 4 out of 5 rating was because there is no garbage service so you do have to take your garbage with you when leaving the campgrounds.

stopped one night here on our way thru nevada. arrived around 7pm and there were still quite a few spots available. we were in spot #18, which is apparently usually booked. it was gorgeous and pretty level, tucked away from other sites in an aspen grove. the campground is pretty minimal with vault toilets and a water pump. google maps tried to take us up a crazy dirt road that connected to 231, it’s pretty obvious when you see it, but don’t take it and go a bit further and there are signs for angel lake. we had no issues in our ‘92 camper van. we loved it and would absolutely stop here again.

This is a beautiful campground sitting at the base of the East Humboldt Range. Pick a site where you can see the magnificent Chimney Peak and sit back and enjoy the scenery. The campground is well maintained and offers pit toilets, picnic tables, water, and fire pits. Most of the sites are nestled into quaking aspen and are shady. Watch for deer and wild turkeys wandering through the campground.

This a pleasant little camping spot in the hills outside of Wells. There isn't a lot of privacy; camping spots are clustered around stands of aspens dotted along the hillside. And it can be a little crowded because there are very few NFS campgrounds in this part of Nevada. But its pretty, clean, and well managed.

Really beautiful area but not much privacy between sites. We stayed there 2x, once during week and once on weekend which was noisy after dark. Star viewing was outstanding!!  Lots of coyotes howling at night, I loved that. We had trouble knowing ahead of time which first come slots were open. Toilets were clean.I would go again.

Half way up mountain with small number of sites divided in 3 loops that make the number feel smaller. Most sites are nestled into their own cove in the trees. Short drive/hike to alpine lake. Only complaint was 2 of the 3 water spouts didn’t work.

Stunning view of the Ruby Mountains from the campground. Both loops have easy access to the vault toilets and dumpsters. There is water at the main entrance but it’s a hand pump. The only drawbacks are that the sites are not very level and it would be difficult to get a rig longer than 30 feet into most of the sites.

This is 6,200 foot elevation 8 miles outside Wells, Nevada. Peaceful camping in an aspen grove with fire pits, toilet, trash receptacle. If you’re a birder it’s got high desert birds, raptors. I saw my first Lewis’s woodpecker, watched a Harrier hunting, a flock of soaring, bug eating Common Nighthawks, deer everywhere. Stunning views of the terrain. Designated tent pitching squares, kinda rocky but fine with a protective footprint.

Beautiful location. Close enough to the highway to stay here on a road trip but far enough that the only sounds I noticed at night were the deer or elk in the area
