The hot springs are a major draw, and many guests appreciate the live music and fresh food options available on-site. As one happy camper put it, “Imagine soaking in a beautiful wooden pool, enjoying a cold beverage and a pizza, while you listen to live music.”

If you’re looking for a laid-back atmosphere with friendly folks and a chance to soak your cares away, Norris Hot Springs is definitely worth a visit. Just be sure to keep your furry friends on a leash, as pets are welcome but must be supervised.

Description

The 'Water of the Gods' is a series of artesian springs, flowing at a constant rate of 80 gallons per minute and an average temperature of 129 degrees Fahrenheit. Locally milled fir planks have been laid directly over the source to create our unique 40' x 40' pool.

Our simple sprayer system creates the perfect soak by circulating the spring water and cooling the pool to a pleasant temperature below 100 degrees in the summer, and as warm as 106 in the winter.

The pool holds over 38,000 gallons of fresh, hot mineral water, which is drained every night to allow it to refill with fresh, hot water over the course of 8 hours. The pool is drained and pressure washed once a week, with no chemicals of any kind used to clean the water or planks.

The overflow and drainage from the pool is diverted through the neighboring wetlands to follow its natural course, flowing five miles east through the canyon where it joins the mighty Madison River at the aptly named and wildly popular Warm Springs Recreation Area.

One of my New Favorites

The tent sites were full. When I come again I’ll definitely pick site 11 for tenting, I think it’s the best one. But this time I picked site 13, not my favorite because it backed up straight to someones driveway with a fence in between. The site came with a picnic table and privacy fence. The best sites are probably the RV sites because they get a better view. But for $43 to swim, shower, and sleep, I’m not complaining :) The bathrooms were really clean and nice, some of the best bathrooms I’ve seen in a campground. Staff was friendly. With the purchase of a campsite you get unlimited swimming for $3, so I went at night and again the next morning after I packed up. There was great music, birds chirping.. their raspberry cider was really good too! Lots of dogs, but they must be on leash at all times!

Fun visit!

This place a little gem. Camping is a big close together and off a busy road, but the hot springs and clean and tidy bathrooms make it worth it! The hot spring are really great with a bar and food on offer fresh from their garden. Bathrooms are nice private rooms with showers and modern. If the campground is full, there is dispersed up the road that still get you close to the hot springs.

Magical location with food served fresh from the garden!

This is one of my favorite spots. Your reservation includes your soak. They offer live music in the dome on the weekends. Imagine soaking in a beautiful wooden pool, enjoying a cold beverage and a pizza, while you listen to live music. Yes, it's that good. Dog and kid friendly!

Laid Back, Hot Soaking, Fabulous Folks

This is a great place to land for a few days or longer! Close to many things to see and do and a hot pool to soak in! The people are really nice and helpful. The sites are close together, but have full hookups. There's a clean bathhouse with nice warm showers. They have a beautiful organic garden which supplies the kitchen for the Hot Springs Cafe. Really reasonable prices, big portions and yum! Campers soak for $3 a day! The driveway is steep and I wouldn't take anything over 30' down there. My 5th wheel is 29' with a full extra cab truck and I felt like I was close to being too long.

Hot Springs or bust

Outside of the hot springs there’s nothing to do at the small campground. They have it well maintained and it is pretty quiet even though it’s on the highway. Wi-Fi didn’t work very well in the campground, which is fine. Good spot for a weekend getaway.

Relaxation only steps away

Come for the hot spring and stay steps away in a great tent or RV site! The RV sites have water and electric hook ups, and there is a portable toilet by the tent sites. The sites are close together but are divided by trees and lattice fencing. There is a bit of traffic on the nearby road, be ready with earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

At this time; campsites can only be reserved online, so be sure to check the website for availability and call ahead to make sure the pool is open. Campsite rules are also listed on the site.

Nice find

I used the online registration late in the day, so we were happy to get the last spot. Very easy to find in the dark at 10:30 pm because driveway is well lit with little lights, however the driveway is gravel hill going down and very bumpy. Spots for the RV are full hook up & very close but well divided with bushes and lattice for privacy. The view from the back of the RV was great. The gardens on the property really are beautiful. There were two single shower/bathroom in the bathhouse. We did not go over to the hot springs because it was closed.

Great Base Camp

I have now been to Norris Hot Springs two years in a row on the last weekend in September. I love the small number of camping spaces and the rules that all campers actually follow (no loose dogs, no generators). The camp bathroom/showers are super helpful and it is awesome to just walk across the parking lot to the spring.

The food is amazing and the staff are all super friendly. Both years I've been, it has snowed either a dusting or an inch-ish. The camp spots do not become a muddy mess and the drive is still easy to navigate on foot or by small vehicle.

We might make an annual trip here if we can budget in the time off. It is the perfect spot to setup camp and then go explore the area.

A-ok, family oriented

Quick note to backup other reviews. This place is worth a stop and folks seem to know it. Occupancy appeared near capacity for our visit. Would stay again - preferably when there is live music in the dome.

Hot Springs!

I love this place! 45 minutes away from Bozeman and you’re in the middle of a beautiful landscape. The camping is descent with some sites having hookups. When you’re camping it’s only and extra $3/day per person to go to the hot springs...normally $8/person. They have great food and a descent selection of beer/wine as well. They also have bands play at night on the weekends which is awesome!

Earth friendly campground, springs, and food

A lovely little place. About 10 small sites with hook ups and several more for tents. Showers and toilets available, plus WiFi. There is a cafe on site with the hot springs. They grow all their own organic food to serve and have several draft beer options. Nice quiet campground, and at the springs they have live music on the weekends, which makes for a more crowded pool. If you have kids, mornings are best for space to play and less alcohol about. Cool place to visit with family or friends. Make reservations online as they fill fast and are busy on weekends.
