Buffalo Jump Camp

Anglers planning fishing trips along the Yellowstone River will find Buffalo Jump Camp offers direct water access within the Buffalo Jump Fishing Access Site. This dispersed campground provides just two camping spots, both managed by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and equipped with basic amenities including toilets and a dump station.

The proximity to roadway limits space for larger RVs, as one camper noted the lack of room for big rigs. River levels affect fishing conditions, with visitors reporting plans to return when water runs higher. Cell service reaches the area, and campers can bring pets along for their stay. The small capacity means securing a spot requires flexibility, particularly during peak fishing seasons when campsites near Nye fill quickly.

Beautiful but small

There are only 2 spots for camping here. It’s a nice spot with river access, but close to road and no room for big rig.
