Fishing, hiking, and biking give campers plenty of reason to set up at this BLM dispersed site east of camping near Livingston. Roads in are bumpy gravel, and clearance matters: the Swingley Road entrance handles big rigs up to 45 feet, while at least one underpass runs only around 10 feet high. Noise from highway traffic, motorcycles, and a nearby rail line carries across the site. A handful of long-term occupants are present, but the area spans several hundred acres, giving most visitors room to spread out. Works best for self-contained rigs or campers comfortable with an open, unmanaged setting close to town services.
