Pine Creek Campground

Tent camped here. Definitely bring bear spray as this is a remote campground in the woods.

Had great availability last minute. $34 for the night. Sites 1-13 are pretty grassy and good for the tent! Site 14 was tent friendly, but it was harder to find a flat surface with no tree roots. A 2 person tent was used at site 14 and we made it work. If you have a bigger tent I would definitely go for sites 1-13 first. Each campsite had a bear locker to put food in!

Awesome place to camp but the narrow road in is a white knuckle challenge. A busy trailhead brings close to 100 cars aday there especially  on the weekends. If towing a camper,these hikers tend to fly down the road literally,be Careful, if you have a meet it  can get Ugly. Sad, but this narrow road is dangerous and needs addressed at this VERY popular place. Not nearly enough  camping  in this area,hence the large crowd going there.

Nicely spaced sites, vault toilets, a little over grown but not bad, metal picnic table, fire ring, bear-proof storage, gravel driveway and road.

-basic bathrooms -beautiful scenery -dogs allowed on leesh -great trail nearby -Roads are easy for any vehicle

Beautiful forest campgrounds with really nice mountains.

Had a great overnight stay here early September; Loop A site#9. Peaceful and quiet for the two of us. The adjacent sites looked a little more private, but this was Wednesday and the campground wasn’t full. Since we were heading west and moving from Mountain to Pacific Time we were able to use that hour in the morning to hike up to the Falls. The camp hosts noted a bear about but we didn’t see it. Hope to come back and spend more time. Great spot!

27 Sites all located on the side of a mountain. The area is very remote and beautiful. The road to the camp is all pavement but very narrow. Very nice Hiking trail. Small creeks running though the campgrounds. Day use area. Overall well kept and clean.

Quiet secluded sites near pine creek. Picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes at every site. Most sites have a level-ish spot to park. Multiple vault toilets, drinking water faucets, and garbage containers. No hookups and no dump station. Access road is narrow and winding but paved right up to the gate. Can walk to the pine creek trailhead. Sites in the 20’s back right up to pine creek as well.

We stayed here for one night, near the end of Sept 2020. We got lucky as it was the last night it was open for the season. Absolutely beautiful place! We were a little skeptical as we were driving there as there wasn’t much for trees but as you get closer and more into the mountains, it really becomes beautiful. It was quite and dark - it was the last day for the season. Would stay here again.

Loved this campground and the beautiful trail to Pine Creek Falls. Stayed here in site 9 loop A for two nights in late August 2020. Lovely site, good shade and privacy. The hike is wonderful- beautiful scenery and shade, and the falls are spectacular. We hiked it twice with our puppy. We love this campground and will return someday.

We had been doing mostly dispersed camping through the west but decided to stay here after hiking the Pine Creek trail. The trees provided nice spacing and its location nested in the foothills of the Beartooth wilderness gave it a great view.

13 miles from town, but you wouldn't know it. Well marked trails. Lots of trees well established trails. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Site well kept. We will be back for sure.

Nice campground with really large sites. Nicely wooded and quiet. The road in is narrow and 1 lane but paved, about 3 miles off the main road. Vault toilets and water are convently located. Hiking trails accessible from the campground.

This spot was such a refreshing one after a few nights in Yellowstone in mid-August. no trouble getting a spot. Quiet, spacious and situated up in the Absaroka wilderness with some nice peaks all around. Hiked up to the falls and wish we’d had time to make it to the lake. Hosts were great and helpful.

We really enjoyed camping here, as we used it for a base to do local hiking. Lots of bears in the area, so keep your food stored

Great camp sites and large day use sites with a covered pavilion. 1/2 mile hike to beautiful waterfalls and 5 miles hike to the lake.

I arrived around 10pm - the campground was well-marked and quiet. We were at site 19 and the ground was level. There was room for 3-4 cars and 4-5 small-medium sized tents. The creek is maybe 30 yards away. We had a small black bear lumber by in the morning - curious but decidedly uninterested in what we had going on. The camp hosts are super nice locals and the campground is impeccably maintained in general. I will stay here again for sure!
