Ok but crowded

The grounds are well maintained. Lots of nice tall trees for shade and grass is mowed on the regular.  There are a few spigots around for fresh water. There a couple hiking trails. But, the RV sites are very close together, so don't expect privacy or quiet days/evenings at least in the Pine Ridge…

Nice campground, lots of noise

The campground was nice and very clean. There were a lot of families with kids, which is no big deal, except for they were playing who can scream the loudest and longest, which was a little annoying. You could also hear cars and sirens from the highway. A couple times through the night we heard…

Not too crowded, plenty to do

We went camping for a weekend to welcome in Spring 2021 (March 20) and it was CROWDED. The RV side of the park was completely full and there was only 2 or 3 open sites for the “primitive” sites, fortunately one of those empty sites was right next to us

Although our stay was nice, i feel like it…

Family experience

Nice place to ride utv’s, 4 wheelers, even your jeeps. Holiday weekends are a bit crazy but overall it’s a pretty good place to ride. The rules are kinda strict. Things like, No bug lights, don’t even think about getting on there grass. Big NO NO! There’s more but that was the ones that got my…

Huge!

Very large, open place with the river close to most campers. I never floated here but I'm sure it's quite the party!

Great Missouri State Park and Campground

This campground offers no-services tent/RV and RV with electrical.  The electrical spots are all in cut grass areas, many with great shade trees.  The no-service sites are more wooded.  We did not visit the facilities (COVID) but the campground is well kept and nice.  The staff did not wear masks…

  • Park is close to the river. A great place to have a picnic within easy walking from the campsite.
  • Great walking trails
  • We camped in the no-service area.

Mixed thoughts...

We have camped here two nights and the area is quiet, scenic, but with a few surprises. Our first being all of the water is shut off and It appears that the dump station hasn’t worked in years. We had a pleasant day driving through the area. There is a lot to explore but it would take more than…

Reviews on Campground #1 & #2

I’ve camped at both campgrounds offered at St. Joe. In the fall of 2018, we stayed at CG#1, the spot has a nice gravel tent pad with border, picnic table, and a fire pit. The spot also offered a concrete section for a camper and cars. We had a pop-up and one tent and it was very spacious. A great…

Nice

Nice camping area. It was not overly crowded. We went beginning of June during the covid crisis/RV buying crisis. It has decent camping sites and they are right next to the river and swimming holes. The hiking trails are a few of my favorites in MO. The park is big and has several picnic and…

Nice place

Good place to ride your off road vehicles. Lots of trails and plenty of different types of trails to try out. Good clean campground for the hole family to enjoy. We found that there are some rules that didn’t make much sense. But overall they probably have there reasons. Anyway it’s kinda…

Other reviews must be old

Let’s start with the good. The outhouses were clean and it was pretty cheap. Ok,on to all of the not so great. The trails were VERY unkept and there was poison ivy at nearly every step, the entry map shows a beach- there might have been 5 years ago but now absolutely nothing that even resembled a…

Good for a lazy float

They have a nice, small, clean campground. Not recommended for experienced campers though. It is close to a busy 4 lane highway bridge on one side and a country road curve on the other though. Right on the Big River and they offer floats. No bicycle or hiking area. There is a shower house, firewood…
