      Amazing memories here

Beautiful park. Pay more for the pull through you’ll have tons of parking even if your rig is big. Our rig is 44 ft and we parked two 2500’s on the pad no problem. We reserve our days in advance and if we need to cancel we just change our reservation to a different date with no fees. The pool and clubhouse are well kept so are the bathrooms and laundry room. This Is our favorite campsite to date. So much to do.

      Basswood Country RV Resort

      Very mixed bag

We booked a site here on our drive back East in August 2023. I saw “resort” and was like “Sign me up” after some real hot and grimy parks earlier in the trip.

Ultimately, most of the amenities were closed by the time we arrived. The game room, the restaurant, and store were all closing or closed. My kids did get some pool time (it was a nice pool) and loved the blob (whatever you call the bounce pads). There was a nice playground, pavilion and courts.

What is weird is that this is almost two parks - the front is the “resort” or old-fashioned campground, but where we were placed was in the back with what looked like a lot of long-term, single male residents. It was a longish-walk to front where the pool and store was and it definitely didn’t feel like a resort.

There were spots open in the front closer to the pool and lake - if we had camped there I think the experience would have been different.

      Early fall camp

Came out to camp one night with my 5 year old. We stated on a friday night in October and the campground was not too busy at all.. maybe only 5 other groups there. Showers and bathroom were all fine, campsite was clean and well maintained. Loved that the tent camping sites were actually surrounded by trees, I see way to many tent campsites that are basically just in the middle of a grass field. There are walking paths and a couple of playgrounds around the lake close enough to walk to but far enough away they wont ever be a bother. Also if you like disc golf than this is the place to go, there is a brand new 18 hole course right next to the camp!

      Peaceful

We stayed Sunday-Wednesday and it was very peaceful. Sites are not right on top of each other and it looks like they all have a fire pit and picnic table. There are only a handful of paved spots and you will need leveling blocks on the gravel. Showers and bathrooms are clean and the hosts are very nice. New asphalt roads throughout the park; nice for walking, biking, etc. Be sure to get biscuits & gravy at “The General Store” just down the road from the park entrance.

      Clean and quiet

It does cost about $25 a day, but you have electricity, and shade, and it is always quiet here. The park rangers are always cleaning or doing rounds to make sure everything is okay. Bathrooms have AC and are cleaned with disinfectant daily. Very clean campground and has a playground. Pet friendly.

      Good off-season stopover

Stopped here on our way south for spring break. The amusement park was not open yet, so the campground area was relatively quiet and the price for full hookups was not bad. Nice shower/bathroom building too. I imagine it’s very different on a busy weekend when the park is open, but we would definitely stay here again as stopover.

      Nice and Quiet

Lake Mozingo is near the College Town of Maryville, Missouri. My experience is limited, but I’d say it’s pretty nice here. And inexpensive. Concrete Pads with Power and Water at the Site but no Sewer dump, that’s Centralized in the Camp. There’s Lake access if you want. I like it here.

      Nice sites on the lake

Both back in and pull through sites available with electric, dump site, and fresh water fill station. Hosts are very friendly and drive around with firewood right on the back. Easy to reserve online and nice, level, shaded gravel sites, and primitive sites right by the lake. Bring your bug spray in the summer.

      Worlds of Fun Village

      Novel Campground in Kansas City

This was an interesting stay at the Worlds of Fun campground. Located on the property there are RV sites and rental cabins. All RV sites were concrete with 50/30/20 amp, water and sewer. Back-in sites on rows 1 and 3 and pull through sites on row 2.

The theme park offered discounted tickets when staying at the campground and parking for the parks was included. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are internally connected, making it easy to walk between the two.

There is a pool, hot tub, laundry and clean bathrooms with showers. The campground did attempt to improve privacy with strategically placed trees and shrubs.

Row 1 (sites 1-20) is along a busy highway with semi truck noise 24 hours a day. I recommend either paying more for the pull-through (further from the road) or the back in sites 69-82 in row 3.

Security was disappointing, as there was no gate to the campground, nor a gate around it. So our campsite (site 2) that backed up to the road was 10 feet off the public sidewalk. Reviews of this campsite on other websites mentioned some petty theft, so we kept our outdoor compartments locked (nothing was stolen).

      It’s fine, this is fine.

So, decent state park (when it’s not flooded), on a small (not that big) oxbow lake, which about 3/4 of is privately owned… so there are boats.

      Great Stay

Stayed here while visiting friends in the metro - one of the few RV parks in the area.  Pads were concrete, level, clean, and well-maintained.  Easy walk to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, with some back-in sites offering tremendous views of downtown KC.  Kids loved the fireworks at Worlds of Fun in the evenings, and could be seen from our pad.  Check-in was easy, and store was stocked with plenty of essentials.  Just off I-435, with easy access to the park from the interstate system.

Beautiful park and super helpful staff

We arrived about 15 minutes after the office closed. One of the staff members went back inside to check us in amd thennled us to our camp site before leaving to go home. We were there off season so we only had electric and the shower house was closed but there was fresh water at the dump station close by. It was a beautifully wooded park with a lake, very peaceful....and at a great price.

Nice place, ruined by Robocop parks officer

Ive camped all over and never had an issue parking our 2 very small teardrop campers in a camping spot. Park ranger wouldn’t allow both of them for no real reason, other than somewhere in a rule book it said so. Lake was alright, very small and flooding made it a bit dirty. Running trails and beach were also closed.

      Small Campground, Fun

There are not a lot of campsites, which is nice. Makes it easy to get around without traffic. Very clean place. Hosts spend a lot of time cleaning campsites between each visitor. We had a ton of fun walking around the old mill and visiting with the historian working the visitor center. There are live chickens and sheep. Only negative was it was a pretty chilly weekend and the shower house near our campsite had barely lukewarm water. No full hookups. Electric only.

Clean But Dated With Lots of Long Term Renters

We visited Basswood Country RV Resort in October 2020. All in all our experience was a positive one, but prospective visitors should know that there is a large section of long term renters that you must drive through to get to the short term sites. This gave the impression that this was less a vacation park and more of a trailer park. The facilities were clean, but older. The site we stayed in was large and level.
