Bass' River Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Bass' River Resort, and rates run $11 to $16 per night, making it one of the more accessible options along the Courtois River corridor outside Steelville. The resort accommodates everything from tent campers to large rigs up to 73 feet, with full electric, water, and sewer hookups, plus a dump station and WiFi on site. Walk-in, drive-in, and boat-in access means paddlers can arrive directly from the water.

Float trips are the main draw here. The Courtois River runs alongside the property, and several reviewers describe coming back specifically for river access. Site 545, noted by one frequent visitor, sits on a gravel bar roughly 100 feet from the water's edge, though dense tree cover makes backing in a camper more difficult. The resort also designates separate quiet and louder areas, which gives campers some control over what kind of stay they're getting into.

The on-site store is well-stocked, and the resort offers pizza delivery directly to campsites. A restaurant serves breakfast. The bathhouse is within about a 100-yard walk from riverside sites, and coin-operated showers run $0.50 for five minutes. Cleanliness gets mixed marks in reviews: most visits, facilities are described as "pretty clean and maintained," but during peak weekends when the resort is fully booked, bathrooms and showers have shown signs of strain under heavy use.

Crowding is worth factoring in when planning. The property books up on summer weekends, and the camping areas can feel dense when at capacity. Calling ahead is straightforward, and at least one camper reports securing a spot on the same day. Nearby alternatives worth considering include Huzzah Valley Resort about two miles southwest, Huzzah Conservation Area Primitive Camping a few miles north for a more stripped-down experience, or Ozark Outdoors further up the corridor.

Nice camping space but could be cleaner

I’ve been here a few times but stayed here for a birthday weekend away! The resort was completely booked up so the camping areas were a little full but no problem! The showers and bathroom house was walking distance from our camp but unfortunately a few of the showers on the female side didn’t work and all were extremely dirty.. (Sanitary products left inside showers and on floors along with other things) the porta potty’s were also super close to overflowing is what a few guys in my group stated. But the employees and bus drivers helped make the float trip and transfer there super smooth!! Nice place to stay if you bring your own shower and toilet!!

I've been here many times and it's always a blast! Especially the floating on the beautiful Courtois river! Has a huge store and pizza that they can deliver to your campsite.

Top Notch Relaxation

I called on the day I wanted to go camping and still got a spot, and although I had never been there before It was exactly what I expected and more. The main office had everything you would ever need even pizza delivery I didnt use it but it's an awesome idea. The and playground looked very nice and well kept, the showers and bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. The scenery was beautiful and the river was perfect for floating and playing. It was a great experience and I'm excited to go back again.

First time out...

Been to this campground multiple times. This go around we pulled our popup down and chose a site with out hookups. (545) only negative things to say about the site was that it was very densely populated with trees. (Not a problem if you love shade or aren't trying to back in a camper for the first time). This site is right on the gravel bar and about 100 ft from waters edge. Great for relaxing and having a "beverage" while watching the floaters figure out life. Bathhouse is close by maybe a 100 yard walk. Pretty clean and maintianed. $0.50 cents for 5 min on showers. Hope this helps and happy camping!

This is by fare the best campground in the area, everyone is so nice and you can even order pizza and they will deliver to you. We rented the large cabin, very nice space, great views, and everyone is very friendly. Recommended for any float trip

Great Campsite

This was a great campsite with water and electric hookups. We tent camped and floated the 6 mile float. Bathrooms we're clean and we'll maintained. Showers needed quarters to operate. Nice restaurant for breakfast and a great store.
