Best campsite we've found to explore STL

Well maintained and well managed park. Staff on duty at all hours is awesome! We called ahead but didn't need a reservation. It is a city park and had that feel... not many trees for shade but the lake was pretty and the playground was good for the kiddos. Five minutes from food and stores. 30 minutes from downtown Saint Louis. I'll

Good now, and will be really nice when the trees get bigger

Stayed here most of the several weeks we needed to be in St. Louis for family matters. Definitely our favorite place in the area. The grounds are clean and pleasant, if a bit sparse with little shade. This will change over the subsequent years, however, as there are many relatively newly planted trees. The nicest spots are the ones by the lake, with only one neighbor and a better view of the lake. The staff are kind and helpful. Water and electric worked fine. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Trash and recycling receptacles are huge and convenient. My only complaint is the poorly thought out sink situation in the bathrooms which make it impossible to wash in a sanitary way as you must hold the tap to keep the water flowing and there are no paper towels to that with, only hand dryers. There is boating and archery on site, a dog run, and a small playground.

Nice but expensive

This is a city run camp with like-new amenities. Unfortunately it sits on the wrong side of a levee with not much atmosphere. The water is part of the Missouri river flood control. An overnight site in my opinion.

Convenient to St. Charles

Easy off I-370, campground is new and large. It is on a lake with bike trails, kayak rental, and kids splash pad. Staff were helpful. I received about 5 pieces of paper when checking in. You need a code to get into the dog park. Shopping nearby. Used this as a base to visit historic St Charles.

Nice park on a lake

This is a well maintained park with plenty of large sites, both pull through and back in. All very flat with no trees, but a nice little lake with a walking trail around it (5 or 6 miles)

Really nice overnight stay

We spent one night here (May 11, 2022). This is a very nice easy access CG with wide, spacious, and level pull through and back-in gravel sites (25 paved). There are a lot of activities available: archery, boating, fishing, dog park, biking (wish I brought my mtn bike), walking, playground, horseshoes and volleyball. We did not have time to visit the clubhouse and did not make use of the bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. We would definitely stay here again.

I wish I could add more stars!

This campground, a City of St Peters park and campground, is as excellent as a campground comes.  The campsites are "state-park-size", especially the back-in sites which all have plenty of lawns behind them.  All sites have a view of the small lake. The park/campground rents paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes in addition to different kinds of bikes.  There is a walking trail around the lake (4+ miles).  There is fish in the lake and you are allowed to fish.  The ATT cell phone signal is good.  The staff is SUPER NICE AND CARING.  Example 1:  There was some rough springtime weather expected one day.  A park ranger went around to every site and notified every camper of where the shelters were (the restrooms/showers) and gave out a flyer about the specific weather forecast!  This is in addition to all campers getting an email.  Example 2:  We were checking out right before a weekend.  Our site, previously not available that weekend, had opened up.  The staff called to tell us that the site had opened up over the weekend and wanted to check with us before giving it to someone else.

Great stop over with dozens (hundreds?) of sites

We stayed here as we blitzed across the country (16 hour days!!) This was the perfect flat spot right off of the highway for us to pull in, open our roof top tent, eat some freeze dried food and go to bed.

There is a 24/7 security guard who takes you to your site (Security and maybe because one could easily get lost?) Showers and restrooms are located throughout the campground.

Truthfully, we were only there for maybe 8 hours before we got back in the car and took off again. I would definitely stay again in our larger trailer if we find ourselves in the area because of it's location to St. Louis it's a clear draw for those who want to visit the city and stay... not in the city.

Tons of space and sunlight

If you want space! This is your place. There’s tons of sunlight as trees aren’t near the campsites. Neighbors were great. There’s a nice amount of water so bring your kayaks or rent them. You can also fish, though I believe it’s catch and release. Quiet place and star gazing is awesome. There is a trail to walk, run or bike that stretches around the lake.

Nice well maintained campground.

We stayed 2 weekend nights in April. It rained one night so the fire pits were full of water but overall the rain didn’t cause any issues. Paved streets but gravel campsites. Nice and level. All hookups were conveniently located. Shower house and restrooms were clean and well maintained/cleaned every day. Had a lakefront site but didn’t get to fish this time. Will be back for sure because it’s close to home. Very nice and large pavilion. Playground for kids. Sand volleyball courts. Nice biking/walking path around lake that’s about 5 miles. Check-in was fast and convenient.

RV delight

I wanted to escape the house and go camping while on the work from home order (Covid-19 happening at the time of this review), so I headed to a very local park and campground to pitch my tent. I've been to 370 Lakeside Park many times to walk around the huge lake and to hear concerts in the summer, but I had never camped there. Still haven't. I'll explain. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they were not so keen on having tent campers. But they were very nice and gave me the general lowdown on this "in the city" campground. Since they opened the campground, most of their campers have been RV owners, and so it is really designed for the RV camper. There is a small primitive section for group tent camping, but the majority of the sites are full hookups for RVs. Some sites are pull through and some are back in. All have picnic tables and fire pits. The park has planted some trees, but they are really just saplings, so there is no shade yet. There is a nice bathhouse with free showers for the campers and pay laundry. If you are lucky, you can get a site close to the water, but it means the walking trail is right next to your unit. Trade offs, I suppose. One couple I talked to was camping long term (I think they are permanent RV'ers) and they got a free membership to the St Peter's RecPlex recreation center with their long term spot (they said something about having to book a least a month out to get this perk). One of the downsides to this location is that it is prone to flooding. It was out of commission for most of the summer of 2019 as the entire area was flooded. But the City of St Peters did a great job getting this place back to usable with new sod, a new bathhouse, and some general sprucing up. The lake is great to walk around, about a 3 mile walk or bike on a paved trail. You can see all kinds of wildlife in and around the lake- deer, bald eagles, pelicans, ducks, snakes. In the summers they have live music in the large pavilion, and you can rent kayaks and other small boats to take out on the lake as well as bikes to ride around on. The office told me that they have 24 hour on site security also. If I really wanted to tent camp, I could rent a section of the group camping area, but $30 seemed pricey for just me, and it was very soggy to boot. Or I  could rent an RV spot, but $45 was silly when I don' t need hookups.

Easy access

I have to preface my review by saying that this isn’t my kind of campground. I like trees and nature around. This park had very little of that. It seems to be new, and there are trees planted, but it will be awhile before they provide any shade. I stopped here because it was the closest location to an RV repair shop that I unfortunately needed to visit on my way to Chicago.

On the plus side, because it’s new the restrooms/showers were very clean and modern. The site I was in had full hook ups. The water pressure was so strong that I could barely open the water pump!

I think the best thing this campground has going for it is it’s location. Proximity to historic St. Charles and the bike trail.

The park host mentioned that the rates would be going up for next season.

Nice park!

This is a very nice park. The spaces are a bit close together and not many trees but I've been to worse. The not many trees is do to it still being a fairly new campground. The lake is nice and they have some spots close to it. The only real complaint was that it was a bit of a wind tunnel. I don't know if that is because of were it sits between the river/lake and a levee for the river or because it was spring time and windy anyway.

There is a lot to do here. They have an archery range. The rent out peddle boats, bikes and peddle cars/buggies as well. We rented a peddle buggy. Those are a lot harder to get moving then they look. Awesome workout for the whole family!

SiteLake side. Don't remember number.
