      This is a beautiful park!

We loved the park. Great for walking our dogs. The only issue was the poor road maintenance in getting to our campsite. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay tremendously and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

We stopped by on our way home to check out the campground. First impression is that’ll we’ll be back to stay the weekend in the near future. Campground is a small for a State Park but the grounds look well kept up. The staff at check in office were very friendly and answered all the questions we had plus we got a lot of information on other spots.

      Nice Muni site

Last minute stop at this small muni campground/park. Clean grounds with friendly host. Photo from our site #7 overlooking the lake. Non campers kicked out at 8pm and gates are locked. All campers get a key for after hours entry/exit. Beautiful little spot.

      Small but quiet and cheap

Small campground attached to a public use park. Gated after dark with older but usable bathrooms and showers. Has a splash pad, a basketball court, and several piers on the lake for fishing. You can hear cows in the distance from across the lake.

Can’t beat the price at $22/night. We stopped in for a night in our teardrop trailer on our way farther up north.

Tupelo is 30 minutes away with the Elvis Birthplace museum and other attractions. There’s a gas station at the entrance to the park for snacks and ice.

      Pretty State Park

Nice campground in a state park with a lake. Campground is super small. Bathrooms are adequate. Poor cell service with AT&T and if you have starling it won’t work due to all the trees. Still, I really liked this campground. Small, intimate, tons of shade. Sites easy to get into. If you don’t have to have internet for work, this is a nice place to relax

This was our first trip with our RV. The campground was well maintained with level parking pads. Bath house was clean. Lake was great for kayaking and fishing.

Picturesque lakeside sites with full hook up

State park campground with full hookups in the woods on the lakeshore. Park is just off the Natchez Trace. Sites are adequately spaced and sorta level and paved. Beautiful sunsets picturesque tree lined lake. Deer Run bath house is showing its age, but Eagle Ridge’s is much newer, and it includes a coin laundry and a party room. Park roads are in serious need of repair

Great Lake Views in Deer Run Campground

      PROS

No transaction fee assessed for making my own online reservation

Site 8 excellent view of lake

      Asphalt parking pad

Pedestal BBQ, moveable wooden picnic table and rock campfire pit.

Eagle Ridge campground has 3 washers and 3 dryers $1.50

Heated toilet/shower blding. No AC tho - just a box fan.

1 bar T-MOBILE but we’re able to live stream TV via T-MOBILE hot spot

      CONS

      No senior discount

Site number is painted in the roadway and due to leaves on road difficult to find Numerous large road potholes from entrance gate to campground.  Guess this eliminates any need for speed bumps!

Not dark sky friendly due to 2 street lights, at site 2 and 13, that light up most of the small campground loop

Deer Run campsites very close to each other

      Site 8 unlevel side-to-side

Dirt and sand surrounded asphalt parking pad so during rains (for 2 days) it was a big mess

No privacy from any other campsite

Due to campsite water spigot being low to ground, insufficient space to add water filter

Deer Run campground toilet/shower building is not handicap accessible

Trash roll offs outside of camping loop. 15 minute walk one way.

      No park WIFI

      Great state park!

This place is a step back in time of sorts.  Very old and quaint.  For the price, it's perfect.  Very secluded, wooded and a fun place to explore.  Check it out!

      Quiet and shady

Quiet wooded area with water and electricity. There are bath houses that have washer and dryer’s available so bring your quarters and laundry soap. Disc golf looked nice and there we two playgrounds.

      AT&T service was sill strength.

      Great location, not well kept

When you arrive the office is closed, just a phone number to check in. Very poor signage, sites are poorly marked. No lights for late arrivals. Branches down in the roads and sites. Roads had poor drainage and large puddles. Sites are paved and fairly level. You may need a long potable water hose, 50+ feet. The bathhouse was heated with hot showers and clean toilet stalls. This is a fishing hotspot with lots of boats and folks fishing from the shores. Sardis Lake is impressive and attracts hundreds of sportsmen. This is an inexpensive and convenient location if you have modest expectations.

      Nice, quiet, HUGE LAKE!

Camping between Christmas & New Years 2021, so not busy at all. The weather is in the upper 60’s a little chilly at times and still humid.

We are in the Deer Run camp area. It and Eagle Ridge areas are more rustic and shady than the Warrior Trails area (the Equestrian area). There are less trees and all the sites are concrete including the picnic table area for each site.

The roads need more paving, lots of pot holes but passable. There is no store close by but there are hiking and biking trails which are nice. I’ve put 15 miles on my bike (2 days).

      Small tidy county park

With less than 20 sites this is a small comfortable campground with full hookups. 30 minutes to Tupelo or Oxford, this place splits them down the middle. The site is a level concrete pad with 50/30 amp, water and sewer. The campground is next to a big county park with a playground, boat ramp and fishing docks. Nice walking paths along the lakes edge provides a great place for a view of the sunset. The camp manger is a nice as could be and reached out after I left to return something I left behind. A great small park easy to get to.

      Very rough campground

While many sites have full service, this campground is badly in need of repairs and maintenance. I am not sure if any of the bathrooms are open as I went to 3, that were out of service Oddly, there was a small building with laundry. The northern part of the campground appears to only have a few sites in the upper numbers that were open. Most sites in the northern part are grown up in weeds and the concrete tables were in bad shape The staff was very nice! . We stayed one night then moved just to the south to the COE campground that is much better maintained.

      Some updates needed

We picked out a campsite and set up our camp for the evening. However, we then found out that the bathroom and shower room were closed. As such, we had to walk quite a ways to use the facilities. Just check it out before you set up your camp.

Did not stay loop seems small and close to each other

We took a drive through to scope out at a potential stay over as we progress thru MS. Park looked lovely and peaceful, but the sites on the loop seemed to afford no privacy. On way in we drove past some cabins and a few RV sites that looked more secluded. Appeared to be great play ground for young ones, and the water looked great for kayaking/ fishing.

Road in was quite winding and narrow, so we will not be adding to our list of potential parks

      Beautiful lake and campgrounds

We've camped here twice in the last several months.  Both times we camped in tents and had a great time.  The grounds are well kept, and the park ranger is especially helpful.  There are hiking trails and plenty of places to fish off the bank.  The lake is beautiful.  We used the restrooms and showers and had no problems.  They were clean and well stocked with toilet tissue and paper towels.  The park is close to Tupelo and easy to get to.

      Beautiful Park

We stopped here as a stop on our way across the country. The sites were nice and concrete. We got in late so the site numbers were hard to see, but we figured it out. I only wish we got to stay more than a night.

      Trace State Park Campground

      Family friendly, single mom approved.

Camped for two weeks in mid fall, October 2020. Full hookups, clean bath house. Family friendly. It is dated though. Play area available, small and quant. Roads are drivable of course but need to be funded, come on Mississippi and step up.. 15-20 minutes from a supercenter on West Main Street in Tupelo. Tupelo is lovely and where we actually live. This is the nearest campground my children 13, 10, and 4 stay at. The 4yo loves is, hiking and bike riding is what the older kids do. Nice lake for fishing, no swimming or wake.

Site we stayed at was level, and fully shaded.
