Best RV Parks & Resorts near Foxworth, MS

Paradise Ranch RV Resort provides 105 RV sites with full hookups including 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Sites are primarily gravel with some pull-through options available year-round. Located near Tylertown, the resort accommodates travel trailers and motorhomes with limited big rig access. Hidden Springs RV Resort offers similar full hookup amenities across its 105 sites, while Hattiesburg/Okatoma River KOA features 75 pull-through RV pads with 30/50-amp electrical service. Shady Cove RV Park caters to RVs with water and sewer hookups in a more compact setting. "Some sites have concrete pads, especially near the Lagoon, but others are not very level and may require adjustments during setup."

Road access varies significantly between parks, with several requiring navigation through rural roads. Paradise Ranch recently relocated its entrance, causing GPS confusion for some visitors—Apple Maps and RV Life GPS still route to the old entrance approximately 200 yards west of the current access point. Cell service fluctuates throughout the region with AT&T providing stronger coverage (reaching 298 Mbps download speeds at Paradise Ranch) while Verizon service is often limited to 1-2 bars. Most parks remain open year-round and feature dump stations, though weekend availability becomes limited during peak periods. Pets are permitted at most locations, but visitors should note that after heavy rains, some properties experience temporary drainage issues with standing water around RV sites.

Little Black Creek Campground & Park

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hidden Gem — Can’t Believe I’d Never Heard of It!

We just spent the weekend at Little Black Creek Campground in Lumberton, MS, and it absolutely deserves a 5-star review. I live less than 2 hours away and honestly can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this place sooner — it’s a massive, beautifully wooded, and incredibly well-maintained hidden gem.

We stayed at a full hookup RV site and were blown away by how spacious, level, and private it was. Most sites had wooden decks, and many had lake views or direct access, including ours, which had stairs leading right down to the water and a picnic table on a platform. We didn’t see a single “bad” site in the whole park.

The lake is gorgeous, and swimming is allowed! They have kayaks, canoes, jon boats for rent, and even a bait shop onsite. There’s also fishing, hiking trails, disc golf (two full courses!), a general store, multiple bathhouses, and cute tiny cabin rentals for non-RV guests. They even have propane filling, golf cart rentals, and a dump station. It’s a great mix of peaceful nature and plenty to do.

The campground is huge and wooded, with tons of shade and a very peaceful, quiet, and family-friendly atmosphere. There are two beaches — one near the main camp side and another closer to long-term spots and day visitors. We brought our e-bikes and loved riding around the scenic roads and loops.

The bathhouses were older but very clean and air-conditioned, and we felt completely safe the entire time. There’s a gated entrance at night with code access, which is a nice extra touch. The store staff were super friendly and helpful, even giving us some history on the campground. The greeter at the front gate wasn’t the warmest, but that didn’t impact our stay at all.

There’s no Wi-Fi, but T-Mobile worked just enough for us to use a hotspot to stream TV at night. Cell service is limited but manageable.

It’s also very easy to find, just a few minutes off the main road with a gas station and small town nearby, and only about 30 minutes from Hattiesburg.

We will 100% be back and have already told several friends about it. If you’re looking for a peaceful, activity-filled campground that’s off the radar but worth every mile, Little Black Creek is it. Truly one of the best surprises we’ve had camping!

    Land-O-Pines Family Campground

    Pleasant campground

Land-O-Pines is a nice private RV park near Folsom and Covington. We stayed two nights because my daughter was in a horse competition at a nearby horse farm. The sites are mostly shady. The streets and sites are gravel and can get a little muddy in spots after a rain. The park was clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly. About half the sites are for permanent users.

Stayed in pull-through campsite C69 which was shady and level. It was a gravel site. There was enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are nearby by not on top of you. The site included: picnic table on gravel, no fire ring. Utilities: 20/50A electric near the middle. The 20A receptacle looked like it had some minor burn marks. Water next to power pole, good pressure. Sewer near power pole with 4 non screw-on fitting.

AT&T had 2 bars of LTE and Verizon full bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 30.8 Mbps down, 3.6 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 4.5 Mbps down, 11.8 Mbps up. WiFi available, but did not use. Required a login.

Would stay here again. We camped at Land-O-Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

    Bogue Chitto State Park Campground

    Beautiful Park. Enjoyed the stay.

Bogue Chitto State Park is wonderful, well maintained, and peaceful. We had a great weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. Take the time to explore the beach on the river. We really enjoyed hiking(it has many trails) and the beach. I enjoyed sitting along the lake in the mornings. My son really enjoyed the splash pad. Bathrooms were clean. Park has a great disc golf course, mountain bike trails, and horse trails.  Campground has Trick or Treating every Saturday in October at 6pm.  Many campers decorate their sites (we did).

Stayed in Bottomlands campsite Bottomlands, site 104. No shade. Evening sun shines under awning. Site 103 has better water view and awning faces East, but no shade. Site 105 has shade in the afternoon but cant see water from awning side. Back-in site with asphalt parking, picnic table, BBQ pit, and fire ring. 15A/30A (dont remember if it had 50A) and water; no sewer hookups. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake, but the woods block most of the view. Nearest neighbor was at least 20-30 ft. Away. Roads in the park were asphalt. AT&T had poor service, but Verizon was good. No WiFi. We camped in a Travel Trailer.

Would definitely stay here again (but not in site 104) and bring kayaks next time. The park has a put in and take out landings on the river. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Travel Trailer.

    Bogue Chitto State Park Campground

Quiet Getaway with Great Activities and Amenities

We stayed at spot 31. Near the restrooms but not much through traffic. Dumpster was right next to the bathrooms. Not a lot of street lights throughout the campground made things nice and quiet at night. Spots were gravel and needed a lot of leveling front to back. The site had a very nice deck with a picnic table. The site had full hookups for water, electricity, and sewage. The site had great Verizon and T-mobile cell service, around 50-80 mbps for each. The hiking trails were very nice with lots of shorts and long options. The bike trails were also nice with a lot of different difficulty options to try, you can also rent bikes if needed. Overall the campground was clean, very quiet, very spacious, and is a perfect weekend getaway with fun activities. We camped at Bogue Chitto State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Paul B. Johnson State Park Campground

    Pleasantly surprised

We had the good fortune of finding this gem as an overnight waypoint on a recent trip to Florida. We found an asphalt pad with full hookups overlooking Lake Geiger for our Sprinter Camper van. Friendly staff. Good value. Primitive sites were still closed. The park features the Lake set in a tall pine forest and was near capacity but did not feel crowded or loud. We were only sorry that we did not budget enough time to enjoy all this place has to offer. We will not make that mistake next time!

    Bogue Chitto State Park Campground

One of my favorite La. State Parks

Bogue Chitto State Park is wonderful, well maintained, and peaceful. We had a great weekend stay, and the weather was perfect, except for one eventing of rain. Take the time to explore the beach on the river.

We really enjoyed hiking (it has many trails) and kayaking the lake at the Day Use Area. My son really enjoyed the splash pad. Bathrooms were clean. Park has a great disc golf course, mountain bike trails, and horse trails.

Stayed in Uplands campsite 21. Site was pretty level side-to-side and sloped to the back. Had lots of space, but is sunny during the day. Late afternoon sun shines under awning because door side faces west. Back-in site with asphalt parking, picnic table, BBQ pit, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water and sewer hookups. Not much shade in the campsite. Nearest neighbor was 20 ft. Away. Roads in the park were asphalt. Campground road is in need of some repair. Recommend sites(in order): site 31, 23, 28, 24, 30. 30-31 are near extra parking. AT&T had poor service, but Verizon was good.

Would definitely stay here again. The park has put in and take out landings on the river. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Travel Trailer. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Travel Trailer.

    Lake Mary Crawford

    Quiet and simple

The road into the lake area is a little rough but it's only about a mile and a half from the highway to the lake so it's not bad.

Sites are first come first serve with an honor box, I think roughly 20 pads. $17/ night if you don't want to use electric, $22 if you do. I went without electric but each site has power and water. No sewer hookups but there is a dump station by the bath house. Bath house itself is functional but pretty rough. The lake was recently drained and renovated... I wish they could have extended the renovation to the park's facilities.

The concrete pads are not huge but they get the job done and I think they are all back in spots. When I camped there was a good size Class A on a spot by the lake. This was the only other site taken when I was here. You'll likely be on your own if you come during the week.

Overall beautiful lake and I hear the fishing is pretty good after the renovation and restocking. The campground meets my needs perfectly but it's far from "glamping."

    Big Creek Water Park

    Great overnight stay

Located between Collins & Laurel MS. Camped here in a camper van while visiting relatives in Laurel. Most sites accommodate big rigs, but there are a few tent sites as well. Popular campground; recommend reservations. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to camp in site 18. Most sites are large with good separation between them. Wooded, but almost no privacy between sites. Quiet, secure. Good folks running it. We'll maintained grounds. The restroom/shower house was clean. There is a laundry room. Beach at lake. Folks fishing at lake. AT&T service okay. T-Mobile weaker.

    Clearwater RV Park

    Nice, relaxing, quiet rv park

Me and my husband wanted a nice little getaway from the house so we decided to try out Clear water. It’s a very nice and relaxing rv park. I told my hubby it’s a retirement home but for campers 😅 a lot of snow birds from Michigan! We had a great time especially loved the fire ring we had on our lot which was great to have during the cold weather. Most of the other campgrounds I’ve been to haven’t had any kind of fire rings. The man that runs it takes very good care of the campground and when you buy firewood he actually bring it to you at your lot which was really great! They had a beautiful lit up pond with a fountain and water wheel at night. We had our two daughters with us which they loved going on a walk around the park and looking at the ducks. Just about everyone is friendly there. I’m going to go ahead and give it 5 stars but I wish there would have been a playground in the campground, but I understand they typically have snowbirds and not a lot of young couples with kids. But it was still nice and we really enjoyed it! They had a park down the road so we decided to just drive and take the girls to it. There is also a family dollar/dollar tree and a dollar general down the road which was about less then 4-5 mins away which was great and very convenient.
