Features
Not the prettiest site, but down the hill is a great view
It was our first day on the Border Route Trail, and while the terrain was rough, and at the end of the day (by the time I reached the site) I was dog tired and just wanted dinner, I was glad to find Rose Lake (west).
The site is just down the hill off the trail. It doesn't have a view of the lake (bummer), but down a short, yet steep, hill, you are at the lake's side and it's easy to get water. Not to mention a spectacular place to watch the sun go down! Gorgeous!
The site isn't the best I've ever seen, but it did provide space to set up for the night. There was plenty of space for a tent and there are some decent trees for hammocks as well. There was a fire pit and some "benches" made from old trees. The privy is close by...just up a small hill. It wasn't glamorous, and I've seen prettier places to stop for the night, but it was still a welcome site to have a place to stop and sleep.
The trail actually passes through the campsite. In one side and out the other, so you really can't get lost finding it :)
