  Quiet and cozy

  wide and long pull through sites that are big rig friendly with a picnic table and fire ring at each site. Restrooms with showers in the campground as well as a laundry facility. There is also a swimming pool and playground. Dump station is also provided for registered campers. Additionally, there are horseshoe pits, paddle boats, and hiking/biking trails.

  Tipsinah Mounds City Park

  Family getaway

  My family has been coming here as a group for a few years! We love it here! Nice and quiet. Restroom and shower facilities onsite, some lakefront campsites and some that are not. Public boat launch, sandy swimming beach, picnic shelters. WIFI is provided. There is a dump station, playground, nature trail, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and a fish cleaning station. Great place to go kayaking!

  Lake Carlos State Park Campground

  Lake views

  stayed here in the winter when the park was doing their lantern-lit snowshoe trail. They have 1 site available in the winter (125e I believe.. in the lower campground). We had room for a truck bed camper and a pop up clam ice fishing tent. Fire ring and picnic table at the site. The bathrooms and showers were closed for the season but cannot recall. Firewood is available at the office.

  The Homestead at Ottertail RV Park and Resort

  Cool place!

  ALL SITES HAVE: 20/30/50 amp electrical hook-ups, water and sewer, fire Pits. PARK AMENITIES: bathrooms, showers, pool, fish cleaning shack, playground, laundry facilities, firewood and ice available, basketball court, volleyball. Located very close to Otter Tail Lake.

  Visited some friends who had their new camper set up here and stayed 1 night with them :)

  Lazy Days Campground

  Lots of amenities

  full hookup sites with picnic table and fire ring. Pool, playground, sand volleyball court, basketball court, shuffleboard, horseshoes. Showers and flush toilets in campground. Office has firewood, ice cream, candy, and other miscellaneous items for sale.

  Dog friendly; Roscoe definitely enjoyed some lazy days here!!

  Perfect Fall get away

  Simple beautiful park with the fall colors, plenty to due and see. Amazing fishing both trout and bass! Well maintained facilities in the park and friendly staff!

  Lovely campground with sites along the river and in an area closer to the office and showers.   That area is rather tight, but adequate.

  It’s convenient

  This would be a decent campground if it wasn’t for the other city park visitors in the camping area. It’s supposed to be for registered campers only but they allow non campers to fish the river and they abuse that privilege and park their vehicles in front of campers and some even set up a bbq in vacant campsites. There were a couple of teens selling chips and walking through campsites. We felt uneasy about non campers wandering around Most sites are uneven, it’s ok for a one nighter

  We opted for what the staff person told us were more level sites instead of those overlooking the river. Although our site was level, the spaces were closer together. Fine for an overnight stay. Have not checked the bathroom facilities yet, but they do stay locked, a plus.

  Hankinson Hills Campground

  Really pretty and quiet

  I was lucky enough to get a spot far under the trees. It was quite private and even though it was labor day weekend, it was quiet and peaceful. Good cell service, I was able to work on Friday via my hot spot. The campground is well maintained and the trail had just been mowed. Unfortunately there are stickers and poor tuck found a number of them. We still had fun.

  Welles Memorial Park

  Camping in the county fairgrounds

  The campsites are integrated into the fairgrounds which is different but nice. Very little shade for most of the sites and the reservation process is a bit difficult to navigate but the sites is nice and quiet. There is a bathroom and an outside shower but way better if you have a full camper. Nice access to town and bike trails and across the street and some trails down by the river.

  It is small and designed for tent campers

  There's a short row of camp spots in the sun for campers. Seems like a good portion of it is full of people who are here all the time. The rest of the campers are in the back of their truck, which i'm not opposed to, but they're in pretty tough shape and very old. I will say this is one of the least safe places. I have felt in North Dakota.

  Andes RV Park

  Nice / quiet!

  Nice, new rv park. Not far off I 94. Spent 1 night, but slept well due to no noise. Golf cart rentals, and trails from the park.

  Would definitely recommend.

  Lindenwood Campground

  Very nice & convenient

  The convenience and price can’t be beat. For $35 a nice asphalt pad, big grassy site right on the river. Sure there’s some road noise but $35! Very clean bathrooms that are for the overnight campers only, big playground, ball fields, plenty of space to roam and walk. A beautiful city park. We were in town the same night as a street fair down town so we took an $8 Uber and had a great time shopping hundreds of local vendors and food trucks. Pretty awesome Fargo experience all around.

  Hankinson Hills Campground

  Beautiful stay in the grasslands

  Well maintained campground, has water and multiple vault toilets. There’s a loop for horse camping and a loop for non horse camping. Each site has a fire ring and a nice table, most spaces have trees to provide shade. Verizon works okay, not great but I had a bar or two. Can hear trains running by every so often. Only downside was the abundance of biting flies and mosquitoes.

  Maplewood State Park Campground

  Spacious and buggy

  For established camping, this park is lovely and spots are spacious. The place is bumpin’ with people but trees provide some sense of privacy but large, louder group was definitely in our vicinity—we couldn’t enjoy the birdsongs as we’d have liked (over 150 species can be found here). Staying at Grass Lake, we might have been able to launch our paddleboards from our site, but would have been a little tricky. Energy was better spent on keeping a fire tended with onslaught of unavoidable mosquitoes. Also, park doesn’t permit burning of found woods in the pits…

  Andes RV Park

  Dandy time at Andes RV Park

  We were in town for a weekend event and Andes RV Park was outstanding! Friendly service was in the easy check-in and checkout process. It has outstanding trails that they use in the winter time for cross-country skiing with tons of outdoor activities. Brand new restroom and shower facilities with laundry.

  Bougie "camping". More like a living room with no roof...

  This is a great state park. Group camping comes with its own bathroom building and shelter building with wood stove. The water is quite clean. Also there's even hot water in the bathroom.

  Hankinson Hills Campground

  Great place to overnight

  There are gorgeous sites well spaced and lots of shade. Trails to bike ride around. No motorized vehicles allowed so it's quiet. Road in was good gravel. Picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets. $10 / night. Great find.

  Pretty Campground - Lower Loop

  Camped here on Oct 9, 2023. Large wooded campground on the lakefront. Easy access to the beach. Hiking trail. Very clean restroom/shower house. Level gravel campsite with metal fire ring and table. Water spigot short walk from campsite. Campground can accomodate all sorts of camping rigs. Paved campground loop road. Nice hosts and park ranger. Need to reserve online. Quiet. peaceful evening.

  Swan Lake Resort & Campground

  Beautiful Quiet Campground

  Wonderful office staff, very kind and helpful. We intended to stay at the tent site but when we arrived we saw a lovely cabin overlooking the lake and decided to give ourselves a treat. It was very clean and comfortable. You can tell they work very hard to make the interior inviting and the kitchen well supplied with nice kitchenware. Highly recommend.

  Great backpacking site to take your family

  Take the Maplewood church road into the site. There is enough room to park 1 (maybe 2) vehicles. The walk is an easy walk. There is a nice fire pit and good area for fishing right at the site. Also there is a picnic table and a vault toilet. Surprisingly there was toilet paper there!

  The Homestead at Ottertail RV Park and Resort

  Stayed with family and friends

  Some family friends have a seasonal spot here so we stayed a couple times to spend time with them. They recently added onto the campground, mostly seasonal sites. Fire pits are provided for each site and they are cleaned out between guests. There was a large open field are near the pool so we set up a little disc golfing course! Sites are large and clear of trees and big rig friendly (camped in a roughly 30ft 5th wheel). Picnic table provided at each site. Bathrooms were clean and the pool area was nice to visit on a hot day! can get a little crowded during busy weekend! The road through the campground is dirt and usually smooth.

  Never visit pelican rapids park or the town. Ther is ppl in the park with hand radio like the police ther acting an impersonation of law. 1 short person 1skiny tall ,1 wanabe kid posing as a firefighter an 1 fat girl acting like she owns an like she is model.. ther ppl hiding in normal clothing.. Too all be careful not to catch a felony charge over dum. Ppl

  Buffalo River State Park Campground

  Nice Little State Park

  This campground(CG) was easy to find. Because it was a Tuesday during the off-season, the check-in gate was not open, so we proceeded back to site 24, which was electric only(50/30/20 AMP) for our two-night stay. This small state park has many trees, but with the road being wide enough, the trees weren't in the way, and with no ditch this was an easy back-in. The sites here are also nicely spaced. A park ranger came by later and gave us our post and vehicle tags. There was highway and train noise. There are mature trees in the CG, but we were able to get enough north sky for Starlink. On Verizon, we got 3 bars. There is potable water at the dump station, which is at the park entrance. The shower/restroom facility was in good shape and clean. We enjoyed the trails, some interpretative, around this state park. As the nights were cooler, we opened our bedroom windows and noticed that trains ran almost continuously through the night. Overall, we had a good visit and would consider staying here again.

  Lindenwood Campground

  Nice place, close to town

  We wanted to explore the cool town of Fargo, but it was too hot to stay at one of the free parking options in town, so this campground just outside of town would have been perfect. Per the online reservation system, there was only one spot left, B10, so we drove over to the park to snag it. Luckily the ranger in the office advised us that we may want to check it out first before paying for it, because of the odd shape. And she was right. We probably could have fit, if we backed up far enough, but the slope of the site was just way, way too steep. Pretty much all of the sites here at this campground were just too steep to be able for us to get comfortable in our 26ft class c. There was a class c with its front end completely on the lifts and the front tires about 2 ft in the air. 

  So, sadly we passed and kept moving. It seems like a really nice campground, very green, nice park like setting. There’s a bike rental, a pond, a huge playground, just a lot of fun things to do with the family. Some of the sites share a little entry driveway so watch for that if you want to camp with friends, or if you want to avoid being overly close to a neighbor.
