The Homestead property has been in the family for over 85 years. Greg's Grandfather moved the family here during the Depression. They built the barn and ran a dairy farm to sustain the family.

We are excited about starting a new life for the farm. We want to give people an opportunity to enjoy the area that we have loved our whole lives.

We look forward to having you come stay, experience and enjoy The Homestead.

                Camping in the county fairgrounds

The campsites are integrated into the fairgrounds which is different but nice. Very little shade for most of the sites and the reservation process is a bit difficult to navigate but the sites is nice and quiet. There is a bathroom and an outside shower but way better if you have a full camper. Nice access to town and bike trails and across the street and some trails down by the river.

                Kidder Recreation Area

It is small and designed for tent campers

There's a short row of camp spots in the sun for campers. Seems like a good portion of it is full of people who are here all the time. The rest of the campers are in the back of their truck, which i'm not opposed to, but they're in pretty tough shape and very old. I will say this is one of the least safe places. I have felt in North Dakota.

                Nice / quiet!

Nice, new rv park. Not far off I 94. Spent 1 night, but slept well due to no noise. Golf cart rentals, and trails from the park.

                Would definitely recommend.

                Spacious and buggy

For established camping, this park is lovely and spots are spacious. The place is bumpin’ with people but trees provide some sense of privacy but large, louder group was definitely in our vicinity—we couldn’t enjoy the birdsongs as we’d have liked (over 150 species can be found here). Staying at Grass Lake, we might have been able to launch our paddleboards from our site, but would have been a little tricky. Energy was better spent on keeping a fire tended with onslaught of unavoidable mosquitoes. Also, park doesn’t permit burning of found woods in the pits…

Dandy time at Andes RV Park

We were in town for a weekend event and Andes RV Park was outstanding! Friendly service was in the easy check-in and checkout process. It has outstanding trails that they use in the winter time for cross-country skiing with tons of outdoor activities. Brand new restroom and shower facilities with laundry.

                Stayed during State Trap Shoot

We stayed for a few nights during the State High School Trap Shoot. Crowds were expected and it was a busy area. Surprisingly quiet in the evening given how many people were there. Facilities were clean. Will stay there again for sure.

Bougie "camping". More like a living room with no roof...

This is a great state park. Group camping comes with its own bathroom building and shelter building with wood stove. The water is quite clean. Also there's even hot water in the bathroom.

Nice hosts and park ranger. Need to reserve online. Quiet. peaceful evening.

                Stayed with family and friends

Some family friends have a seasonal spot here so we stayed a couple times to spend time with them. They recently added onto the campground, mostly seasonal sites. Fire pits are provided for each site and they are cleaned out between guests. There was a large open field are near the pool so we set up a little disc golfing course! Sites are large and clear of trees and big rig friendly (camped in a roughly 30ft 5th wheel). Picnic table provided at each site. Bathrooms were clean and the pool area was nice to visit on a hot day! can get a little crowded during busy weekend! The road through the campground is dirt and usually smooth.

Stayed here for one night...All lots, (lots of lots), were level and had water & electric. Super easy check in... Would definitely stay again..

It is an active gun range so if shooting bothers you, may not be your place..

                Amazing fall colors

Second visit to the park but first time camping. Our spot was not private and a bit of a walk to the toilet but everyone was quiet and respectful. It is a very large park with miles of hiking trails and some pretty great mountain biking routes. It is a gem with the fall colors and was full the night we were there.

Stopped in our 25ft RV to check out the campground and was told to get off the property if I wasn’t staying there. The owner was rude. Would not let us park and take our dogs out to the road (not on the property). Was the worst experience ever. Happy to leave.

We don’t have much of an experience, booked online an electric site that showed full shade and plenty of grass. Got there and no good place to pop up a roof top tent, all dirt, no electric. We had to leave and go get a hotel room

Close to fargo and moorhead if you're looking for things to do in the area! Like the other state parks you can get firewood at the office and sites come with a fire ring and table.

                Friendly owners!

The owners are very friendly and attentive to the people staying there! The new owners have been working on making additions to the grounds to make your experience here better! Also, they're gathering a list of local attractions so guests have a list of things to do in the area. If you stop somewhere, be sure to see if it's on her list and add it if it isn't! Say hi to their adorable frenchie Brady!

Note: this review included photos from 2 separate stays. And some low quality drone photos for an arial view.

                Beautiful and quiet

End of October, Stopped for just one night, probably about a 20ish minute drive from 94. Was able to purchase firewood after closing, and the campsite were easy to find after (7$)entry to the park. Campsites are reserved through an online system. We found the top campsite completely empty and plenty of sites had good tree coverage for privacy/ way no protection. Nice level sites with soft ground. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. The only bathroom in walking distance to the upper campsites was a vault toilet located amongst the cabins. Seems like a great place to stay any season.

Stayed in mid September and almost had the park to ourselves. Good road in and level sites. Electric is dated but functional. Walking trail is excellent.
