We wanted to check another MN State Park off of our list. We enjoyed this small campground with a newer and very clean bathroom/shower building. It has separate showers which is nice. All sites seem very spacious. We look forward to seeing again in full fall colors!!
I can't really speak for any of the other sites here, but 13 is the only one right on the water and it's HUGE with lots of trees and absolutely beautiful scenery. I imagine in the middle of summer, it might feel slightly less secluded as there are 3 other sites relatively close by, one of which you…

Nice park for everyone’s type from tents, cabins and all size RV’s. Electric only at the camp sites but have water and dump station on site. Clean bathrooms and showers. Best value I’ve seen for fire wood. Has many walking trails that you can take your dog on and just a couple that you can’t.

Facilities are top notch and private. The nicest showed and restroom you can imagine. Large tent pads and a quiet area. Not busy when we went. There is a small hiking trail as well. The lake isn’t anything spectacular, it’s quite dirty but we were only there for a night.
Nice campground with relatively new water and electrical hookups. Clean bathrooms; my wife actually wanted to take a shower in them. My kids really enjoyed the playground. The owners were very accommodating with our changing situation during the weekend we stayed. It was also surprisingly quiet for…
This summer we took our 7 year-old here as a trial of backpacking camping with him.
This is a little more than a mile, and so it was super approachable for all of us to hike-in with all of our things. There was a good amount of hiking, some hills up and down and such, but a good length for a…
Well-maintained campground with basic amenities. Newer electrical and water hookups (30&50amp) with each site. Small playground. Easy to get on and off Hwy 169 for close-by attractions.
The little island group camp is a hidden gem- a whole island to yourself! The weekend was very cold - middle of May. But there was a lot of hiking to do. I'd recommend trying to snag this spot later in the summer when the lake is more inviting. But we did see lots of migratory birds over the…
We frequent this park, and experienced something different this time. The park had done a controlled burn through a lot of the grounds right before we arrived. It gave an apocalyptic feel, but didn’t detract too much from the great weekend. The hiking here is awesome! 6 is the best cart-in spot, as…
This is a nice well-kept campground. That is a mix of primitive and electric only sites.. sites are spacious with most having trees between each of the campsites for privacy. And her in number of water stations in each camping loop where you can fill up your RV as well as an RV dump station that…

The campgrounds were beautiful and well kept. The bathrooms were immaculate. I love it!!!! I will be back!!!!!
Right on lake peppin. Cramped spots with no privacy Camp post cruised around constantly hassling us about everything and made us feel unwelcome. Trains come by every 15-30 minutes just feet away from camp site.
I love this place. Nice and tucked away. Sites are very private. Has beautiful trails. Next to the river great for exploring and fishing.
This place has a lot of stuff to keep the kids busy but not much for adults to do. Doesn’t really have the feel of camping. It’s right off a highway so you hear cars flying by 24/7. Campsites are all cramped together with zero privacy.
For free the area is awesome right by the river. We found a site tucked away from people which is what we like. We set up hammocks right next to the river. The hike from parking is not bad at all about a 10 minute walk from parking to the farthest site.
