Newly renovated

I’ve already done a review for this park but they have recently renovated it I feel the need to redo it. Spots 1-17 have remained the same and are awesome. Spots 18-46 are second best. Even numbered sites on the lake are better than the odd numbered sites but both have a few of the lake. The rest of the sites ‘unfinished’ - no grass, weeds, and just need more attention. The photos are from site 33

Newer Campground that Caters to RVs

Clean and new with showers, bathrooms, water fill ups near toilets, picnic areas, table and fire ring at each site. Sites close together, although the night we stayed most sites were open which afforded a sense of privacy. $38.00 for the most basic option. No swimming in the lake although there is a boat launch.

Campground patrolled by sheriff since it’s a county park.

Family friendly

When we went the lake had a blue green algae problem. Other than that it was great and had fun geocaching spots.

Open Layout

We picked a site at the end looking to have less neighbors. We were told two tents per site no more then 6 people (we had 4). The camp was beautiful and had great trails and clean showers. I recommend going down to the bluffs, most beautiful stop out there. We wish that the day site at the bluffs was a campsite. I want to give an honest review so please read to the end because they did make things right. Our 5 day trip hoping to relax was quite loud. unfortunately the time we went, there was also a church group of atleast 50 people and kids. they did not follow the 2 tent per site rule and spread across camp. this was not the owners fault but we wish they would have enforced their own rules on this group. they did make up for it giving us a full refund but because it's so open ask if there will be a large group there or not. they also deliver wood and ice which is amazing. the lake had a bad smell with blue green alge not recommended to swim.

Great place

Great views of the lake and two great playgrounds. Very close to town and good priced. The lake is very dirty but other than that great place.

Quiet and Fun for Families

This is a great family campground! Camping spots are rather close, but we have two little ones so they made friends quick with other children. We didn’t get to swim at the lake because it was shut down due to a chemical spill at the time, but we did walk over and check it out. The views are great! We stayed in a RV spot next to the lake. The playground is a short walk to the tent onoy area, which was a big hit with our kids. Our girls didn’t want to leave! We stayed for two nights during the 4th of July. We were able to see fireworks all around. Our site was also right next to the office which was also the location for bathrooms and showers. The girls loved going inside for ice cream treats when the weather was a little too hot to handle. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!
