Within the Shingleton State Foreset Area, Mead Creek State Forest Campground provides a managed camping experience under MIDNR Forest Resources Division oversight. The forested campground accommodates RVs up to 20 feet and operates from April through October with nightly rates ranging from free to $15.
Basic amenities include drinking water, restrooms, picnic tables, and trash service. Campfires are permitted throughout the site. Pet owners can bring their animals, and the campground serves as a base for exploring campsites outside Shingleton State Foreset Area. The seasonal closure ensures access during Michigan's warmer months when forest conditions support camping activities.
