Quite, Spacious sites

Most campgrounds we have been to had lots of road noise but not this one! We stayed for 2 nights/3days and this campground was quite.

The vault toilets were well stocked with toilet paper, although one had a hornets nest inside and the other was extremely smelly.

Access to the river was good and the sites were a decent size with privacy in between.

We enjoyed walking some of the nearby trails

Spacious campsites, well-maintained campground.

We spent three nights at Canoe Harbor in mid-September 2020 and thought it was wonderful. Campsites were spacious and had nice stands of trees in between to provide privacy. Fire rings had a great design. Vault toilets were kept clean and stocked. Paths from campsites connect to the Au Sable and to hiking trails. We loved this campground.

Our Goto Fish Camp

This has been out camp for fishing on the South Branch for 20 years now. The campground has far more sites than are ever used, so finding a site is almost always easy. The access to the river is fantastic, with multiple trails and access points easily accessible with a short walk.

The facilities are well maintained and spaced out well throughout the camp.

A recent clear cut has made the North side of camp a little less desirable than it was in the past, I wish the state would have left a bit of a buffer to keep the woods near the campsites.

Primative campground near the Mason Track and South Branch of the Au Sable

Primative campground.  Walk-up only.  Find you site and register at the gate.  Good sized sites with privacy.  Vault toilets and hand pump water throughout the campground.  There are a set of sites down by the river that you can paddle to or walk to from the Mason Tract.  There are a lot of fly-fisherman at this campground.  Buy firewood from a stand on M-72 near the road to the campground.  The dirt road from the hwy to the campground is really-really rough.. drive slow.

Rustic

This campground is rustic and mid way between Grayling and Lucerne. The campground is generally quiet and practically deserted during the week.

Great spot to base a fishing trip with access to the South Branch of the AuSable.
