Cypress Bend Park is located on 114 acres of forested land with about 1 mile of shoreline. The overnight accommodations available to you at Cypress Bend include 68 RV campsites with water, sewer and 50, 30, 20 amp electrical hook-ups. You can rent a spot by the night or monthly rates are available from July 9th thru February 28th. Our 10 cabins offer a beautiful waterfront view with air conditioning and heating. The cabins are fully furnished including dishes, cookware, silverware, linens, microwave, coffee pot and satellite TV. Don’t forget some toiletries and a few snacks and let us worry about the rest.
An added bonus to Cypress Bend Park is our newly renovated beach area with easy access to the water. Come and have a relaxing day on the beach while the kids play on our well equipped playground. Set up for your convenience is a volley ball net where you’re sure to always find a good game. Adjoining the beach is our covered Pavilions with picnic tables and restrooms. If you’re looking to just relax and do some fishing, we offer a 6 lane paved boat ramp or you can enjoy our lighted pier, which is handicap accessible.

Went to Powell not knowing what to expect. The lake is beautiful, the camp grounds are spotless and the Staff is awesome. Great facilities whether tent camping, RV camping or staying in a cabin. Cabins are small and rustic as you would expect but very clean. What you’d want since you will be outside enjoying the great outdoors! Boat rentals, pontoons for larger groups, fishing, water sports, they have it all. Did I mention how awesome the staff is??? So accommodating and friendly. We will be back!

The Army Recreation sight managed by MWR is a very well run campground and boat launch. Making a reservation was easy, and the lady i made the reservation with initially even called to follow up when the weather turned ugly.
Our stay was in one of their Yurts. Though they do have cabins as well as primitive camping options. The yurt was supplied with two bunks, the bottoms being a a full size with the top bunks being twins. Amenities included heating and air conditioning as well as a mini fridge, keurig, and a couple of small drawers and a lamp. The only real complaint i can say i had was some of the linoleum tile was loose inside. Other than that, the yurt was an interesting cross between cabin and tent.
Fishing is also very available, as well as playground, boat launch, boat rentals and R.V. accommodations as well.
We may just go back and try a cabin next time as the temperatures have been getting cold here.
Also be aware, there is a one time pet fee when staying in the cabins and yurts.

South Toledo Bend State Park is located near Leesville on Toledo Bend lake. The lake is known for Bass Fishing and is listed as one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country. I’ve also read that the lake has great areas for scuba diving, if you are into that. The park is not far from Fort Polk, and offers nice opportunities for camping, hiking, boating, fishing, kayaking, etc. The campsites are mostly all heavily wooded, and spacious. Plenty of room between sites. They have several waterfront sites with hookups, but the I terror sites were nice also, and most have a lake view. The park has docks for fishing and boat launch, and a fish cleaning station. Theres a nice playground too. There’s also rental cabins that looked really nice. The park was still being cleaned up from hurricane Laura, but was still very nice. The best place to camp I’ve seen around this area!

RangerNice state park on western boundary of Louisiana along Toledo Bend Reservoir. Camping here is usually quite nice from late Oct through late April. Only (5) undeveloped campsites are available for tents/hammocks only. They have a great view looking out over the huge lake. Each has a picnic table and a fire ring w/ steel grill rack. On weekends you must reserve campsites/cabins for a minimum of two nights when doing online reservations. There is a large number of improved campsites that have water and electrical hook-ups, and quite a few cabins that can be rented, some of which also have a nice view of the lake. Bathhouse was fairly clean whenever I have been there, and has showers, sinks, and flush toilets. I would have given this park's camping area a 5-star rating, but there was no hot water left to take a nice warm shower during my last visit. Toledo Bend Reservoir is the #1 bass fishing lake in America 2 years in a row. Clean water and a few sandy beaches along the two small nearby islands are great for hanging out on when canoeing/kayaking/ boating. Bald Eagles are often seen during late Fall, Winter months, and early Spring. Please note that the raccoons are professional thieves at this state park, so you need to put your food away at night.

Cabins are beautiful. Animals were awesome. They had exotic waterfowl, emus, cows, peacocks, donkeys, miniature horses, and more. The place was so peaceful and quiet. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There’s a small gift shop that has all that you need if you left something. They do have a restaurant on sight. There’s also a water park right next door.

Incomparable beauty located on a tranquil harbor off of Toledo Bend Reservoir, one of the top 5 bass fishing lakes in the US. Cabins and lakeview RV sites on a bay surrounded by beautiful unscarred National Forest. A wildly popular restaurant and grill offering live entertainment every weekend. Kids love the swimming pool and splash deck and nearby jungle gym.
TravelerSpent the weekend here with my husband and son. We stayed in cabin 21, which was clean, cozy, and quiet. My son absolutely loved the jumping pillow! They also have jet skis and boats to rent. The lake is beautiful! The little cafe has excellent chicken fried steak and the French toast was delicious. The staff are all super friendly and very invested in making sure all the campers are taken care of. We will definitely be back!

This camp ground is well kept. There is a nice beach and really nice fishing pears and dock. There is a large open pavilion to rent as well as an enclosed group building. Cabins and duplex housing are also an option. I prefer the pull through full hook up section but there are plenty of tent and RV sites with water and electricity. There are some short trails and an amphitheater is located near the bath house. I try to camp there once a year.
ScoutWe spent a weekend there in August, and had a great time! The park was clean, and the staff was very friendly and active around the property. We were surprised to find a cafe located inside the park, the food was quite good! And the store has a good variety of things to choose from. All the other campers we met were very friendly, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. You can see deer wandering through the park in the morning hours. We stayed in a cabin, which was clean and nicely appointed. We even rented a pontoon boat for an evening ride around Lake Sam Rayburn, it's really beautiful. We will definitely be going back!

I was looking for a Louisiana location for an extended stay, I wanted to find a riverside, quiet location with large sites. A place where there was room for my travel trailer, boat, and truck. I found that and much more at Jones' Riverside Marina & RV Park.
It is in the country but not that far from the charming city of Natchitoches. The staff members are always friendly and helpful. There is a well-stocked store along with a carry-out restaurant (sit down part is closed due to covid-19). They have a free boat ramp and docks (very handy for me). The fishing is always good from the bank or a boat. My travel trailer is small but this facility is big rig friendly. I like the laid-back atmosphere and southern hospitality that is present here. This is not a huge, fancy, "resort", but those are not for me. I don't care for the crowds, noise, price, and many restrictions of those places. This RV Park emulates the real Louisiana!
ScoutMy family of 5 stayed in site #45 for the weekend. The site had a really nice wooden deck and a lovely view of the lake. There was a short walking path to the dock which we left our boat at with no problems. The bathhouse was extremely clean and air conditioned but hot water seemed to be hit or miss in the women’s. The biggest problem with this park is the roads. I’m used to potholes living in Louisiana but it isn’t ideal for narrow roads with a large camper. Also, when you unhitch from your tow vehicle, make sure you have your chocks down or you may end up in the lake. Pads aren’t necessarily difficult to level your camper but beware of your blocks because your hitch will be sitting on the ground. Another word of advice, try to skip the sites on the loop around site 31. There’s too much traffic and for some reason it looked like there was about 5 cars per camper! Overall we had a good time and will probably return

We stayed at site #3, which was pretty much full sun. But, it was on the water with access to the water. Full hookups, concrete pads. Very clean, but dated restrooms. Laundry room was available. Boat launch, fishing, beautiful playground, gorgeous flower beds. No grocery on grounds. The grounds people were busy putting out Christmas decorations! Seems that they have a huge beautiful display every year.
