Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Natchitoches, LA

Grand Ecore RV Park accommodates pets with spacious sites and clean grounds near Natchitoches, Louisiana. The campground provides full hookups, concrete pads, and grassy areas where pets can exercise. Midway RV Park & Marina and Natchitoches Pecan Orchard RV Park also welcome pets with level sites and outdoor space. Coyote Camp offers a more primitive option for campers with dogs, featuring free camping with vault toilets but no water hookups. Most campgrounds require pets to remain leashed when outside vehicles, and owners must clean up after their animals. The well-maintained grounds at Grand Ecore include green grass and shade trees ideal for pet comfort. Spacious sites accommodate both RVs and pet exercise needs.

Kisatchie National Forest surrounds several pet-friendly camping options with miles of trails suitable for dog walking. Coyote Camp provides secluded tent and RV camping directly accessing the Sandstone Trail system where leashed dogs can explore. The trail system offers miles of hiking paths through longleaf pine forests. Wildlife including deer and bobcats frequent the area, so keeping pets secured is essential. Campers should pack extra water for their animals as most primitive sites lack water hookups. Summer temperatures regularly reach the 80s, requiring careful monitoring of pet hydration and heat exposure. Natchitoches city center lies approximately 10 minutes from Grand Ecore RV Park, providing convenient access to veterinary services if needed. Oak Camp Complex presents another option with toilet facilities and trash collection, though the absence of electricity requires campers to bring solar-powered pet accessories.

    Magnolia Hill RV Park

    Nice private campground

Nice location with a beautiful view of the hills. There is full hookups with a Bathhouse and free WiFi. Entrance road is gravel and very steep but I was able to drive my 34’ motor home up pulling my jeep no problem. The owner does not stay on site but he did meet us there when we arrived. Not far from Natchitoches , LA. There is a big Christmas festival there late November and December with lots of lights.

    Grand Ecore RV Park

    Great RV Park near Natchitoches

Park located about 10 minutes from Natchitoches, LA. Think park is operated by Red River Waterway Commission and they do a good job. Very spacious with some shady spots and lots of green grass. Roads are easy to navigate and concrete pads. I was able to park my 44 foot motorhome with a towed Jeep without unhooking. Full hookups and great WiFi. Boat launch next door.

    Nakatosh Campground #2

Great view of Sibley Lake, not much of a park

Stayed here for the Natchitoches Christmas Festival. The park is small, but it was clean. Roads are gravel with some potholes. Its by La Hwy 1 which creates some highway noise when sitting outside, but didnt bother me inside the RV.

Stayed in site#7. Utility poles are not well done. There were three 30A receptacles on my pole. Two of the three had polarity reversed. There were no breakers on the pole to shutoff the power. Power, water, and sewer worked. There was a large grassy area with plenty of shade to sit by the lake which was great. Its the closest campground to downtown Natchitoches that I could find. Served my needs well enough.

The Mariner restaurant was nearby(walkable) and had pretty good food. Id stay here again because of the lake view and proximity to town. We camped at Nakatosh Campground#2 in a Travel Trailer.

    Midway RV Park & Marina

Has everything I need including privacy

I was looking for a Louisiana location for an extended stay, I wanted to find a riverside, quiet location with large sites. A place where there was room for my travel trailer, boat, and truck. I found that and much more at Jones' Riverside Marina & RV Park.

It is in the country but not that far from the charming city of Natchitoches. The staff members are always friendly and helpful. There is a well-stocked store along with a carry-out restaurant (sit down part is closed due to covid-19). They have a free boat ramp and docks (very handy for me). The fishing is always good from the bank or a boat. My travel trailer is small but this facility is big rig friendly. I like the laid-back atmosphere and southern hospitality that is present here. This is not a huge, fancy, "resort", but those are not for me. I don't care for the crowds, noise, price, and many restrictions of those places. This RV Park emulates the real Louisiana!

    Indian Mounds Recreation Area

    Quiet place to camp

Indian Mounds Campground is located in East Texas near the Texas-Louisiana border in the Sabine National Forest. It is a quiet and peaceful location to camp.

RV and tent campsites come with a fire ring, a picnic table, and potable water. Good views of the lake and situated in forest area. Nearby hiking, biking, swimming, and fishing. Not many campers in campground and that made for a great stay!

Kincaid Lake Campground - Temporarily Closed

    Great weekend getaway

We spent last weekend at Kincaid Lake Campground in Kisatchie. We stayed on Loop A. It was a much busier campground than we expected. Loop B was completely full when we arrived and Loop A had around 5 or 6 spots open. The camp host was very nice and stopped in to check on us about 30-45 minutes after we arrived. Each site had water and electric. Spots for the camper are asphalt and there is a picnic table, grill, fire pit and lantern post at each site. The campground was clean and well maintained. It was pretty quiet day and night, even though there were lots of families with small children and pets. We will definitely be back!

    Grand Bayou Resort

    Cute!

We stayed at this campground in December 2021. It was close enough to enjoy the light festival in natchitoches. Fairly quieter campground. While we were there, the bath house could have used some love. The drains weren’t draining and it was pretty dirty.

Enjoyed having a water front site to fish and enjoy views of the river.
