What you should know
Long-term residents: Many RV parks near Florien serve military personnel stationed at nearby Fort Polk. "This happens around Military Bases frequently. The reason is because it makes more financial sense for Military Personnel to not stay in base housing... purchasing an RV and getting into a campground enables them to keep more of that money in their pockets," explains one camper at Shady Lake RV Park.
Road noise: Some campgrounds experience traffic sound due to proximity to highways. "Arlington RV park is located in Leesville, close to Fort Polk. The rv park is right off the road, and you can hear cars going by easily from anywhere in the rv park," notes Lori H.
Terrain challenges: Access roads to some campgrounds may present challenges. "Entrance road is gravel and very steep but I was able to drive my 34' motor home up pulling my jeep no problem," reports a visitor at Magnolia Hill RV Park about the site access.
