Buffalo Bayou RV Park is a 20 spot RV park surrounded by nature. This is a new park with plenty of room for you to stretch out and relax. The park is waterfront with a boat ramp that provides access to the Big Cypress. The 20 RV sites offer full hookup for water, electricity and sewer. (50/30 at all sites) There are walking trails for you and your pets as well to enjoy. Have your morning coffee out on the deck, start out early to catch the “big one”, take your furry friends for a walk or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Sites are large and hold 65-70 foot rigs.
Iron ore gravel pads hold even the biggest and heaviest rigs. No need to worry about mud and sinking into the ground. In fact, the sites are so sturdy they even hold 18-wheelers with heavy equipment.
Sites are generous and nicely spread out. There’s plenty of room for slideouts. And you’re never so close to other guests you have to look through their windows.

Historic Jefferson is only a 7 mile trip. There are so many things to do and see. If you have never been, it is a must do trip. The restaurants are Great!! Marshall is 14 miles away and offers all the conveniences of shopping as well as a history of it’s own.

I have taken my son camping here several times. Great small park. The big attraction here is the lake, which looks like something straight out of a Louisiana swamp movie. Huge old cypress trees with Spanish moss hanging from the limbs. The park rents canoes or there is a boat ramp to launch your own boat. The lake is very shallow and navigation can be tricky if you don't pay attention. I recommend a compass & getting the lake map from one of the bait shops near the park. With those, it's pretty straightforward. There are guided tours of the lake by vendors outside the park that are worthwhile. The nearby historic town of Jefferson is worth a visit also. Lots of history, Jefferson was a major supply point & gateway city to the West prior to the Civil War.
RangerWhen we called to make our reservation there was only one spot left and it was at the Mill Pond camping area. I was a little hesitant because this area is water hook up only. However, it is the only camping area in the park with water view. So, we sprung for a generator and reserved the spot. On arrival, we were surprised to find that there were plenty of open spots even after being told several times there were not. My assumption was that this had to do with Covid 19 and limited capacity regulations. Nevertheless, the Mill Pond camping area is the way to go. Easy access to the pond and breathtaking views made this my favorite camping location so far. It also could have been the swampy nature reviving my Louisiana roots. Other pros to Caddo State Lake park were the very long scenic hiking trails that included beautiful rock stairs, canoeing through the pond out into the bay, adorable cabins, and wildlife. We spotted a deer, paddle fish, and a baby gator! About four miles from the park is a National Wildlife Refuge with walking trails and auto-tour route. There are several canoe trails on Caddo Lake. I strongly suggest putting in at Crip's Camp to explore the"Old Folks Playground" paddle trail for some very unique scenery.

ScoutCamping in the city. Campground was FULL and we got the last site. Not a lot of privacy at each campsite and had a tiny table and chairs right next to neighbors sewage hook up. We came in late and only stayed overnight so it wasn’t a huge deal. Felt safe and secure. Site 11 close to bathrooms. $60
LegendWe only stayed one night passing through but had no issues. Clean camp grounds. Friendly staff and neighbors. Good water pressure and no power issues. Would stay again.

GuideWe stayed here for one night on our cross country trip. It was clean, well maintained, nice layout and landscaping, great dog park, and friendly service. We had a level pull through with full service with no need to disconnect. Walmart right down the street for replenishing the goods. Great stop over.

TravelerDid an extended stay here, 3 months while working in the area. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly. The dog park is nice if you have them. Park is well maintained. There are only 2 reasons I couldn’t give them more than 3 stars, 1) on monthly rate they charge for electric which I get but it continued to go up even though outside temps continued to drop so no need for my A/C units. 2) During the last 4 nights of my stay there were multiple times I heard multiple gun fire in the area.
Lots of in and out traffic. I would recommend if your passing through the area and need to stop for a night or two but not long term.

GuideThe pool was closed the whole time we were there. I could understand a day, but they just kept trying to fix it themselves instead of getting a professional. We stayed here for the pool so, at$55 bucks for grass and gravel and no pool, we were not impressed. The women's toilets were new and clean, but the showers were nasty. The long-term campers were nice, but the transients were super rude, parked in your campground arrogantly, and didn't obey quiet hour rules. One camper opened and shut his truck doors over 20 times early in the morning. He was pacing around like a little kid looking for attention. You are quite a long drive from downtown and in not a good area of town either
GuideMy husband evacuated here during hurricane season for a couple of days and I drove up to meet him. We love every KOA we stay in, but this was felt very “homey” - the dog park was a plus and their laundry facilities were very affordable!
RangerTucked away from the highway is this sweet little KOA with all the amenities. There are rv and tents sites plus cabins, a pool, showers, laundry. You are surrounded by forest, so it feels like "camp". This would be a nice place to locate when exploring Shreveport attractions.

GuideThis is a delightful park on the west side of Shreveport. There’s an adorable playground and fabulous pool. Tables with chairs on many sites. Benches, landscaping, grass and shade trees. Clean bathrooms with 3 showers. Road noise might be a distraction for the sites at the entrance area of the park.

TravelerThere is much to do at this park. Trails, swimming, boating, fishing, small zoo and museum. Very clean. Newly renovated. Full hook ups and cabins are available as well as tent camping. The tent camping area is separate from RV section though.
GuideOnly been camping for less than a year but this is my wife’s favorite spot. Plenty of room between sites and great views. She really enjoyed riding her bike around the campground.

TravelerI’ve been to A LOT of parks all over the U.S. I was passing through the area and my Roadtrippers app suggested this park. I love state parks and this one did not disappoint. I came through when it was raining (7/25/24) with no reservation and needed a place to recover and rest for the night. That wasn’t a problem at all. The staff were friendly and accommodating and there is hardly anyone camping here. It’s so quiet and peaceful and when I asked to be put on a site near the water (always my preference) they gave me the best site for the night! Plenty of running room for my dog and there’s a TON of room between sites, as others have said. The sites are large, too. I wish I could stay longer. There are fishing piers and I could certainly sit out there for hours. As we walked around woodpeckers squawked and flew through the trees. This one has been added to my favorites list. I’ll be back!
GuideWe rolled in without a reservation which led to a wonderful interaction with the gate people. My dog came in as well to entertain them while I selected a site.
I had the pick of many because it was February. I loved the spaciousness of each site leaving a lot of room between you and your neighbors.
The bathhouse was immaculately clean. I went in expecting a typical park shower room with spiders or bugs. There were NONE. The bathhouse was heated and a welcome chance to shower in something other than a matchbox.
I really can't recommend enough.
