Rocky Point(wright Patman Dam)

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Waterfront sites with open sightlines toward Wright Patman Lake define the experience at Rocky Point, an Army Corps of Engineers campground within the Wright Patman Recreation Area. The campground runs 124 sites across several loops, with a smaller subset offering full hookups. Sites are angled and well-spaced, which gives neighboring rigs reasonable separation even when the campground fills on weekends. Verizon users report 3-4 bars of 4G coverage, and there is no WiFi on-site.

Water access shapes how most campers use the place. Several sites in the B, C, and D loops sit close enough to the lake that occupants get direct views from their site. A beach and boat ramp are available when lake levels cooperate, though high water has closed both in past seasons, with the nearby Piney Point launch serving as an alternate put-in. Short hiking trails thread through the forested terrain, and fishing draws a consistent share of visitors. "Lots of great waterfront sites, looks like a fisherman's paradise," notes Bob M.

Maintenance gets consistent praise. Reviewers across multiple years describe the bathrooms as clean and the grounds as well-kept, with leaves blown clear of paved areas and sites that show regular attention. The campground is gated, with an access code provided for arrivals after 6 p.m. Rates run $24-$28 per night depending on hookup type, and the site accommodates RVs up to 98 feet. Reservations are available and worth making ahead for waterfront sites, particularly in fall when demand picks up.

Beautiful

We just did an overnighter here but if we're ever in the area again I'd stay. Lots of great waterfront sites, looks like a fisherman's paradise.

Awesomely beautiful!

So well maintained. Gated campground. Code provided if you arrive after 6 pm. Easy to find your way through. The spaces have the leaves blown off so you can easily see the paved areas. It’s just beautiful!

Been twice already!!

We love this campground! We’ve camped here twice already in the same spot! D04. It has a beautiful view of the lake. It’s always nice and clean. Bathrooms are not too bad. Nothing dirty at all, just typical campground bathrooms and showers. You can tell they maintain them for cleanliness. We will definitely be back!

Great stay!

We had a great 3 night stay here in c4. Close to the water and had good views. Lake still flooded so boat ramp and beach were closed. Put boat in at piney woods up the road. Friendly deer and squirrels and nice short hiking trails. Bathrooms ok. Wish our site had sewer. Very nice workers. Didn’t catch much fish but heat index over 100.

Beautiful, spacious and quiet!

We were in site B5 (one of 15 sites out of 124 that have FHU), for 12 days in September and October 2020. This site was not very level but we had great views of the lake out the front and side of our MH. It had a grill with table, picnic table and a fire ring. The sites are nicely sized, well-spaced apart and angled, providing nice privacy. This is our second time visiting this CG because we enjoyed it last year. It’s a fairly quiet campground– even the weekend partiers quieted down around 10ish. There is no WiFi or cable, Verizon 4G was 3-4 bars, 8 OTA channels. We did not use the bathrooms. The Park Hosts that arrived in October were very friendly. Beautiful sunsets on site B5!

We LOVED our site and all the amenities. We had a spacious site in the D loop, camp was clean, and beach was fun. Highly recommend! Big playground, well laid out sites.
