Accessible via a well-maintained gravel road, this US Forest Service day-use area within Kisatchie National Forest functions primarily as a staging point for two long-distance trails: the 30-mile Boy Scout Loop and the 32-mile North Loop. Facilities are minimal. The site includes a pit toilet, trash service, picnic tables, grills, and ample parking, but no water hookups and no pets are permitted. Trail users share the routes with motor bikes, horses, ATVs, and mountain bikes, and some sections carry water crossings. The Loran Site Complex sits just 0.2 miles away for campers who need overnight accommodations rather than a day-use base.
