Cumberland Falls State Resort Park Cabins & Cottages

Cumberland Falls ST Park Clifty Tent Camping

Most of the camp sites on the Clifty side are small and right on top of each other, except one- T-49. T-49 is off by itself and its big and private. There is a trail head (12) right next to the site, which was great. Its about a 1.5 mile hike, moderately difficult. This site is also not too far from the bathrooms, which were very clean.  You can fill up a water can in the bathroom. We have At&t and had no service at the camp site. Lastly, there is plenty of fire wood at the site if you're willing to process it. So long as it has not rained recently, no need to buy fire wood. 5 stars for sure!

Levi Jackson Wilderness State Park Campground

Very clean, beautiful park with lots of amenities

The sites are pretty spacious, varying degrees of level, but the park is well maintained with beautiful flowers, clean bath houses, friendly staff. I'm disappointed we were just doing an overnight here as I would have liked to have gone to the pool and done some hiking. Overall a great experience. I was a little concerned when the youngsters in the park were still running amok at 10:15pm, but then realized quiet hour isn't until 11... and little later than I would have preferred, but they were having fun and things did get quiet around 10:30pm. If you don't want that, I might suggest not picking a site right across from the main playground. I would definitely stay here again. They also have a couple of adorable cottages available too.

    Guide to Williamsburg

RV parks near Williamsburg, Kentucky provide camping access to the eastern portion of the Daniel Boone National Forest region. Most RV campgrounds in this area sit at elevations between 900-1,100 feet above sea level, with the terrain characterized by rolling hills and limestone formations. The camping season runs longest from April through October, though several RV parks maintain year-round operations with limited winter amenities.

    What to do

Hiking access: Lake Cumberland RV Park offers convenient access to several trail systems. "Close to State Dock and free transportation from the RV park to the dock. Wooded area and facilities were very good," notes Ben R.

ATV adventures: Royal Blue RV Park serves as a hub for off-road enthusiasts. "The trails are well maintained and all levels of riders will have a full week of fun here!" according to Cheryl C., who appreciated the "level dry gravel pull through camper pads."

Community gathering spots: Thompson RV Park provides recreational options beyond the campground. "Near a rivers edge, playground, walking track, dog park, soccer fields...all right on or beside grounds," says Marcy B., highlighting the "large grassy area, well maintained" grounds.

    What campers like

Easy interstate access: Escapees Raccoon Valley RV Park receives praise for its accessibility. "Easy on off interstate, far enough away not much road noise," writes Carrie G., who also mentioned the "reasonable fenced dog run" as a plus for pet owners.

Convenient overnight stays: Westgate RV Campground works well for travelers passing through. "This is a great overnight stop for us. They have complete full utility hook ups, Wi-Fi and you can walk to several restaurants and mini mart. The mini mart also has diesel," explains Cam C.

Spacious layouts: Campers appreciate the site arrangements at The Farm RV Resort. "The spacious, level sites were well-maintained, and the full hook-ups made our stay convenient and comfortable," writes Joe S., who enjoyed the "peaceful, countryside setting."

    What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Some RV parks in the area have uneven sites. At Royal Blue RV Park, one camper noted: "Where we parked which was site 9 is not [level]. It's uphill and was very difficult to level out the rv. Ours like many is self leveling and it just couldn't make it happen."

Water pressure varies: Campgrounds in the area may have inconsistent water systems. A Royal Blue camper reported: "They have a pressure regulator on the water so showering was like a spit bath and took forever to get the shampoo out of my 'short' hair."

Staff availability: Cumberland Falls RV Resort stands out for owner presence. "The owners were on-site and incredibly welcoming, helping us get settled into our site with ease," according to Kara A., contrasting with other parks where check-in procedures can be less consistent.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Thompson RV Park provides recreational amenities particularly useful for families. "Near a rivers edge, playground, walking track, dog park, soccer fields...all right on or beside grounds. Easy access, allows weekly, or monthly stays," notes Marcy B.

Safety considerations: Some rv parks Williamsburg, Kentucky maintain different security profiles. At Westgate, Jennifer R. observed: "Cops frequently circle do either high crime suspected (very possible) or they like the area. Either way I felt safe."
